View Full Version : Got my v7! Question about channel changing

Okay so it took 19 days for my JB v7 to ride the slow boat here from China, but it came!

I got it all set up today and I notice one goofy thing. When I 'surf' using the 'channel up/down' buttons, it only cycles through channels on whatever sat it's tuned to at the time.

Let me give an example and set the stage with a fake channel list:

CH# -- Sat
1 -- 119
2 -- 119
3 -- 129
4 -- 119
5 -- 129
6 -- 110
7 -- 110
8 -- 129
9 -- 119

If I start on Channel #1 (sat 119) and begin "surfing" with the remote's "channel up" button repeatedly, it will go through the following channels: 1, 2, 4, 9. That is to say, it's 'surfing' sat 119. From there, if I key in channel 3, it will switch to sat 129 just fine and tune in quite quickly. If I then begin pressing the channel up button, it will tune through channels 3, 5, 8--all of the 129 channels.

I hope that gets the point across. I want to have it go 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 in order when I 'surf'

Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? At first I thought it was maybe having switching issues or something, but like I said, I can key in channels from all three sats and it turns quickly and accurately.

Aside from this, I'm enjoying the box. The remote is pretty crappy, but the PQ is great for the price, the channel changes are reasonably fast, and I think it's a good value box, despite being a clone.

Press the sat button on the remote and select all sats.

Thanks, that did the trick.

I feel kind of stupid, but in my defense, the lower-third info bar said "All Satellite" when I would change channels, so I didn't think to try it. But when I selected it, worked perfectly.

I'm actually quite impressed with this for the sub $100 pricetag I paid. The channels change fast, it powers my 1000.2 like a champ, the PQ is fine--pretty close to my provider box in quality, and that's on my 65" Mitsubishi 1080p DLP display.

The fan noise doesn't bother me, but I will still be doing the fan mod whenever that fan gets here. I ordered it the same day as the receiver, which arrived tuesday, but still no sign of the fan. The fleabay estimate says something like "February 15 through March 26" for the estmiated arrival date lol.
