I would assume the box is a clone if you bought new. There is a clone forum for the Jynxbox here:

He did help. First thing you need to do is be able to identify if it is a clone or not. Original Jynxbox units have been off the market for over a year. It may be an idea to post some pics of your unit so that those in the know can decipher what file you should load but file 239 is the last file to be released that did not have the clone kill in it so you might as well start with loading that to get you going at least. The file is here...http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?131089-JX_NA_Firmware_v239_dual-zip

looks authentic by the build date.

I thought so as well but you can't go simply by that. Clones where coming out with that build as well at first and as you know the first cloned box was a V3 hence where the differences had to be discovered.

Just load the V7 allchunk file, that's the best working file for all V jynxboxes.

here they are... hope this helps...
I did loaded 239 to be on the safe side...
thanx all for the help...
and the reason why I said that he didn't help was because he only said
it was a clone... if not mistaken I did say on my post that it might be a clone...

The safest way to approach the load on any v3 is to assume it's a clone. If you load a non-clone safe file on a clone, it will break, however if you load a clone file on an original v3, it will probably work. You still can still possibly recover by flashing back to factory, using the bridging capacitor method. Anyway, good luck with your jynx, I have an original v1 and a clone v4, but I don't think many will recommend it, unless you have a special need for dual tuners, or to use it on a DVB2 system. I know that iq180 keeps testing them, and he's had mixed results. (Sorry iq if that's a mis-characterization of your reviews... no harm intended.)
