They Did have some of the simplest and "Nubee friendly" laid out file and support system, Oh, well with most familiar folks, here I feel they will also look into that too, like iptv section and some tweaks n tricks.

Many of these so called 'old pros' have been calling for the demise of IKS almost since the day it became popular from Nag 3. Missing the old days of programming cards and loading bins I guess. Some day they will be right but until the last receiver is swapped out IKS will live on. I give it at least another 5 years.

Nothing is for certain, but that has been the precedent in the past when someone suddenly goes quiet. Forum owner gets visited or raided, followed by goodbye message on board and forum eventually disappears altogether. After a few months we hear about the legal case.

The loss of one of the few remaining sites where one could go and at least pretend to talk about satellite TV as a hobby really saddens me. It was a great site with a wonderful membership and a decent amount information that will be missed; however, it was only one of the few sites that was more of a reminder of how good the hobby was in the past as opposed to a true testing site. Man, the old days were the golden days of the great sites that where thriving and populated with some of the brightest minds in the understanding of DVB and DSS technology, and enough curiosity to actually actively discuss the possibilities of circumventing the technology employed to secure the satellite programming. Back in the day, learning the coding it took to defeat the encryption technology used back then was done mostly for the challenge, and access to TV was more of a side benefit for the fruits of their hard work; however, the primary benefit was learning and sharing the knowledge.

Over the years, things changed as profit and free TV for the masses replaced the learning and sharing of knowledge that was the genesis of the DVB and DSS testing hobby. This provoked newer and more drastic strategies by providers to secure their signal and one-by-one, the hobby and testing sites fell which effectively killed the ingenuity involved when coders got together and openly discussed ways to circumvent the security measures certain providers used to prevent unauthorized access to their programming. These sites eventually gave way to sites focused on methods to obtain the free TV such as how to program and modify FTA receivers strictly for that purpose, but at least there was still at least a modicum of learning because you at least had to do some programming---at least loading a bin onto the box. Eventually, a lot of those sites dedicated to FTA programing bit the dust, and sites dedicated to marketing/discussing/spreading knowledge of IKS services were the only ones left, and severely hampered any real efforts at circumventing encryption because IKS was easy to profit from, and simple to implement. DSSpros was one of the better sites at serving this last bastion of satellite TV testing (loosely stated!), and will be missed. We are now moving to different technologies (IPTV) because the providers have effectively won the cat and mouse in satellite testing...

No end users lawsuits have come from a site that was not selling products or services. If the site did run into legal than the danger would be Pms and things that could be used against you from one of the existing end user lawsuits.


Hopefully the site closed on their own.

You know me quite well? are you serious? I have no idea who you are but I know where I'd like you to be....yes I modded on a bunch of sites several were taken down by the owners and not by the authorities. I have never modded on a site that was taken down by the authorities.
