Just picked up a Roku 3, little disappointed with its content and restrictions here in Canada. Seems a lot of content is unavailable due to location. Wondering if there are any more experienced users who might have some suggestions on how to "utilize" this thing to the max.

you need to add a private channel like radiosity, machtv, wow, nano, etc.... then once your roku is inside that private it's a whole new world lol...
feel free to pm and i will help you get started with one of them.

I guess what I'm looking for would be if there are any free private channels that offer anything similar to the paid channels. Any tips on using a vpn would be good too, also I'm trying to find how to watch the UFC in HD on it. Are there forums similar to this one dedicated to the Roku/Iptv world. Pm's welcome.

Hi Walter
If your getting unavailable due to location. Please update your Roku Software. Once you update you will be able to get the channels.

Do a google on Roku private channels There are lots that are available in Canada too You can also go with a DNS server to get some US content BUT You have to have your roku setup with an US IP I had it setup with out and can not get it to except anything else
An other good app is plex Then do a search for Plex Unsupported app store Tons there too UFC there is a channel for it and it is all PPV

How about paying for iptv services, does the same "care" need to be taken as when paying for IKS services?

Yeah,I sold mine about 3 weeks ago because it seems like in Canada you have your hands tide behind your back with everything.I didn't want to get a U.S ip,too much hassle and was afraid it would cause problems with other hardware connected to Router.Too bad because it was very user friendly and had a nice interface.
