If you have a computer or smart phone with a camera on it you can see if the remote is actually emitting a signal. My jynxbox remote died a month ago and I am still waiting on the replacement due to my location. Good luck.

When you press the power button does the red lite come on, if it does it's not the remote, it could be a bad IR extender or the VFD.
