I was rescanning sats. When scanning the 2nd sat screen becomes black and then the receiver keeps rebooting. I tried a second power adapter but doing the same thing. What might be the problem? How do I fix it?

Sound like a short in coax.

What do you mean by short in coax? Do you mean coax (sat) cable? Remove coax cable and then turned on the receiver but still the same result.

Ae you turning it off with the switch in back or by the remote?
If by the remote then try the switch in back, turn it off count to 20 then turn it on.

In fact, i turned it off switch in the back. Also, I unplugged the receiver but still the same result.

There is nothing sitting on top of the receiver and you haven't done anything to the box other than scan? Didn't add or change bin??

Sounds like the firmware is hosed, you need to reload it, someone with your type of receiver will have to help with that.

Nothing on top of the receiver. Nothing has been done except rescanning.

Try what Terryl mentioned, a reload of the latest file.

is this a new problem? I would load 102 and if that does not help load the boot loop file

I can't do anything with USB. So I connected the receiver with RS232 cable with the computer to load factory file. Nothing changed. Still in the loop when turn it on. Then I load the boot loop file but still the same. I will try to load 102 this evening. Can someone tell me the order I need to load the files using the loader not USB?
Does it indicate a hardware problem?

There is no order. If 102 doesn't fix it then try the boot loop and see if that fixes it. Don't forget to try unplugging the box for an hour or more to see if that helps.

I have tried boot loop file, factory file, 102 file but nothing worked unfortunately. It seems to me a hardware problem.

I'm only guessing now, try removing the hd module and then see if it will load. Of course when loading a file don't have anything plugged into the box. No coax , sound, hdmi. nothing. let us know

I have tried removing HD module even before trying loading all those files. Didn't work. Nothing was connected when loading files except RS232 since I had to use the loader to load files from the computer. Can't go to the menu to use USB.

When you loaded file from the computer did it work? Did the receiver take the new file? Or are you just presuming the file took?
I noticed in one of your posts you mentioned you used a second power adapter. Are you referring to adapter for receiver or power adapter for l n b. I ask this because it appears from your posts you have legacy l n b and power adapter?

Receiver took the file because it shows the progress in percentage. Finally writing OK appears.
I am talking about the adapter for receiver. I found in another forum someone suggesting using a second adapter for receiver because Dreamlink adapter goes bad sometimes according to him.
Do you think it could be a hardware issue rather than a software issue?

All I can do is make simple suggestions that may or may not cure your problem. Whether it is hardware or software I cannot tell you.
I do have a concern with this second adapter that you are using as to what it is and didn't get it mixed up with another receiver you may have.
I would also try a different cable to load files just in case there is a problem there.
I would also take a look at remote and make sure there are no buttons that are stuck down.

***UPDATE***
My guess was correct. It was a hardware problem. The circuit board went bad. The receiver is working fine after replacing the circuit board.
