HERE IS THE LATEST FROM TMZ:
Floyd and Manny are fighting for more green than they thought on May 2nd ... 'cause TMZ Sports has the first look at the WBC belt the two men will be vying for ... and it's as emerald as Oz.
The World Boxing Council didn't just want any old championship belt to be handed out to the winner of this historic bout ... so they decided to commission a special prize for the victor.
Two belts were made ... an "onyx" version and an "emerald" version -- and a fan vote on the WBC website last week determined which belt will be delivered to the winner.
It was a tight contest but emerald took it with 53% of the vote ... although both belts are said to be worth nearly $1 MILLION ... so there was no real loser.
Except of course the guy that gets his face knocked off on the 2nd.
Actually he kinda wins too ($100 million bucks).

and yours, mine and everybody's. Africa is the root of mankind, haven't you herd that before?
1% of the people here are rich and we still have homeless people in LA.
Worse than that, cops kill them for sleeping in the streets.
Scientifically speaking the first man walked in Africa and it wasn't Joseph Smith or (to be on topic) Manny Pacquiao.
Can't blame a Afro american like Floyd to do this........att.
Pac or his people have never been a slave.
wishful thinking fellas ...
and then these BILLIONAIRES (who have 100's of times more $$ than Pac and Maywheather),,
are going pool their money together buy Africa, put an end to hunger, and instill new laws
which include daily song, dance, crochet and all things sugar and spice ...
1 Bill Gates $79.2 billion 59 United States Microsoft
2 Carlos Slim $77.1 billion 74 Mexico Telmex, Grupo Carso
3 Warren Buffett $72.7 billion 84 United States Berkshire Hathaway
4 Amancio Ortega $64.5 billion 78 Spain Inditex Group
5 Larry Ellison $54.3 billion 70 United States Oracle Corporation
6 Charles Koch $42.9 billion 79 United States Koch Industries
6 David Koch $42.9 billion 74 United States Koch Industries
8 Christy Walton $41.7 billion 59-60 United States Wal-Mart
9 Jim Walton $40.6 billion 66 United States Wal-Mart
10 Liliane Bettencourt $40.1 billion 92 France L'Oreal
Don't think so ,, it's the world we have evolved into ... the more $$ the merrier !!
plus , the residuals to these guys 200 mill ,, is, and I'm guessing,, conservatively speaking ,,
what?? another $500 Million ,, everyone involved from the first trucking company who brings
product to MGM to the last person who sweeps the floor after the event..
I wanted to also mention the gambling revenues but I'll leave that out as I have no Idea how to
calculate that ,,, it's to big a number for me.
so,,, even though these guys won't be saving Africa ,, they're doing their part in generating revenue
income to all those involved.
which is more than I will ever do ...

I could see that you (TLG) are also a student of economics. The economic impact of this event globally is difficult to quantify. Of course most lay people can only see the big dollars attached to their names.
The financial ripple effect of this event will impact even a lowly farmer in Cotobato, or a barber in Santa Clarita. The biggest recipient of economic benefits is Nevada as hotels, bars, restaurants, laundromats, bartenders, and street vendors will experience an explosive boom in business, sales, and tips.
In the Philippines, crime comes to a halt, in this case, perhaps during the entire day. The Moro Liberation Front and the government forces will halt all offensive. There would be more hospital beds for sick people; more classrooms for little children; more auditoriums for young people to train and enjoy sports; more paved roads; and better transport of agricultural products from outlying areas - all as a direct or indirect initiative by Pacquiao.
In Las Vegas and California, luxury sales will rise as Mayweather is known for his lavish spending. The salesmen/women with increased incomes in turn, will have more disposable earnings. Where ever they spend the money, recipients will benefit as well.
As to the extent of this economic ripple effect, no one could really put into concrete figures.
Even those who are directly involved in this event are merely guessing about the magnitude of the financial gains.
As for the world's 10 richest men and women, these statistics merely indicate their net worth. How they leave a legacy to mankind we may never know. I am aware, however, of Bill and Melinda Gates' personal commitment for the betterment of the world. Their foundation aims for the elimination of world hunger by 2030.
So I would not begrudge what Mayweather and Pacquiao stand to gain. I am more interested in what legacy they will leave behind when their days are over. I am confident that in Pacquiao's case, General Santos has already benefited greatly from his efforts. I also think that when this is all over, his stature will rise to a much higher level.
Mayweather's legacy? Not a clue!
exactomundo mon ami Aqua ...
be it for them ,, a lot of good folks will make a few extra dollars.
their take, as grand is it is ,, pales in comparison to the over all
generated revenues.

Be it known that 99% of all these mentioned big wigs "give" only to the extent they can write it off their taxes being personal or corporate or via expense account spending that comes off next years taxes. The rich get only richer in America, politicians make sure of that so the govt can collect more.
correct ,, but not only write offs ...
let's say there's a very nice lady who goes over to Africa, spends 5 years and 40 Million
in building a school.
back in America while promoting her work ,,, gets paid to attend series specials, hosts
fund raisers, through pledges ,,and of coarse those magazine front page placement $$
raises 50 Million ,, if not well there's always the write offs ,,, It's a wonderful world !!
it's a win win ,,, there is a school, and as for her, all is well, if not better financially
sorry we've gone off topic again .... LOL
back to boxing ..

I disagree on the write offs.. most of the list that was printed of billionaires are huge philanthropists..
Way beyond writeoffs.. when you are a billionaire you don't need writeoffs for charity.
You need them for business.
Gates is the biggest giver the world has ever seen... he has talked others into LEAVING their fortunes
to charity...
I have yet to see any wealthy boxer give or leave any money behind for the needy.
In fact most are rich, extravagant big spenders. On themselves.
Arguello gave his life earnings away. But to his country... when all was gone he committed suicide.
Manny and Floyd are in a different world.

Point well made....
is Arum considered a legal charity?
