Nissan has announced its new LMP1 car, the GT-R LM NISMO, will make its race debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and has pulled out of the upcoming Prologue test and Silverstone and Spa rounds of the championship.

The team is expected to perform further private testing in the U.S., to continue to develop and improve the front-engined car before Le Mans.

The pullout reduces the LMP1 grid at Silverstone, with Rebellion Racing also absent while its engines get changed over from Toyota to AER.
