Hello. I have had a viewsat ultra vs 2000 for 8+ years. It died on me today. I was wondering if I ordered a viewsat 9000hd, would it work fine with the same connections with the rq and all and give me better picture? Would I have to switch my cables and lnb to hd compatible also?

The VS900 will work fine and. You will need to aim at 129 because that is where the majority of the HD channels are.

If you plan to run multiple sats this unit is the way to go. I had 2 and got rid of them for Max Hd boxes. Regret it everyday. These boxes are solid. The only issue I had is the HD can't get glitchy. But in the end I think it was the quality of 8psk board I had installed in them.
