im usually a pc guy but i acquired an older white mac laptop today it says 2009 and the os x is 10.8

so the issue is it still has a user on it and i dont have the password so i wanted to reinstall the software to wipe it out and start fresh

i went to my torrent site downloaded and burned a copy of an os and its not loading correctly

any tips where i can get a good copy of an os for it and will this work? to bring it back

i figured how to boot i really need a better coppy only have a few blank dvds left it think there blank

The best thing to have done would have been to clear the password then clean up what you had.
You can call MAC and see if they will send you a new factory OS for that computer.
