It was a sad day, but Bob the Attorney died. As he approached the Golden Gates, there erupted a major celebration. Needless to say, Bob was a bit confused. Not that he was a bad guy, but he wasn't Ghandi, either.
As the horns were blowing, streamers streaming, a full on gala ensued. Bob was greeted by St. Peter. St. Pete had a broad smile on his face and was most excited to receive him, saying, "Welcome, Bob! We've been waiting for you a while!"
"Well, thank you, but I'm a bit confused. What did I do that was wonderful?", said Bob.
"We've never had anyone who's lived as long a life since Methusala! Congratulations!"
"But, I was only 72!" says Bob.
"WHAT?!?!", says St. Pete. "Summon the Holy Accountant!"
Shortly, a hunched bespectacled angel with a heavy ledger in his hands. St. Pete says to the Holy Accountant, "You told me this man was over 1200 years old yet he says he was only 72! How did this happen?!?!"
The Holy Accountant, fumbling through his ledger and stuttering, said, "I.. I I don't understand. We just looked at his life's work! Based on that we just totalled up all his billable hours and.......
