Mark down the most formidable of allies for Manny Pacquiao. Muhammad Ali -- "The Greatest" -- has chosen his side in the Fight of the Century, opting to back Pacquiao when he takes on Floyd Mayweather on May 2.

Speaking with TMZ, Ali's daughter told them that her "dad is Team Pacquiao all the way." Although Ali, 73, won't be sitting ringside when the fight goes down, he'll be watching the fight like the rest of us.

"My dad really likes Manny," Rasheda Ali told TMZ. "He's a huge fan of his."

According to Rasheda, Ali's reasoning involves more than boxing. He's also apparently a fan of what Pacquiao does outside of the ring. Pacquiao runs the Manny Pacquiao Fund, which aims to aid the underprivileged in his home country -- the Philippines.

"He knows Manny's a great fighter ... but it's more about what he does outside the ring," Rasheda said. "He's such a charitable person."

Throughout his illustrious boxing career and even after he retired, Ali was very politically and socially active. In 1985, he helped secure the release of four hostages in Lebanon. During the first Gulf War, he helped secure the release of 15 United States hostages. And when Nelson Mandela was released from prison, Ali was there to greet him.

"I've always wanted to be more than just a boxer," Ali once said. "More than just the three-time heavyweight champion. I wanted to use my fame, and this face that everyone knows so well, to help uplift and inspire people around the world."

According to Rasheda, there isn't much of a comparison to draw between Mayweather and her father.

"My dad stood for things," she said. "Mayweather ... I don't think there's a comparison."

That"s no photo rudee, it's a shame for the person who made it. I find it even homophobic.
Manny should be sad, he's getting his butt kicked by such a person.

Cobra fried his motherboard and had to get a computer........now to figure it out LOL.

What I got out of this was that Ali and his daughter like Manny the man and what he stands for and WANTS him to win etc etc....but I got no idea of any prediction. Just another picked up storyline by the media and nothing more.

All of Manny Pacquiao's promo is based on BS,

Earlier this week it was reported that Muhammad Ali picked a favorite in the upcoming Mayweather/Pacquiao fight on May 2. Muhammad Ali would like to wish both Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao well in their upcoming fight. Muhammad never offered to anyone his prediction and information that was published earlier this week and picked up by other media is either a misquote or someone else’s personal opinion. The stories saying that Muhammad Ali has chosen a favorite in the fight are false. Muhammad has the utmost respect for both fighters who will undoubtedly give boxing fans an incredible match. He believes the significance of this fight will rival other historic matches. Muhammad Ali will join the rest of the world on May 2 to watch this match-up.

BS isn't gone beat Floyd, his butt will be on the line.

Media outlets are devoting extensive coverage to the bout and seeking comment on it from anyone with any connection to the fight game (as well as from many without any connection).

TMZ quoted Ali's daughter, Rasheda, a Las Vegas resident as saying, "My Dad is Team Pacquiao all the way." She also was quoted as saying, "He knows Manny's a great fighter ... but it's more about what he does outside the ring. He's such a charitable person." About Mayweather, TMZ quoted her as saying, "My Dad stood for things. Mayweather ... I don't think there's a comparison."
The story became big news and was picked up all over the world. The problem is, Ali himself is denying having picked sides.
His publicist released a statement saying Ali hasn't offered his opinion to anyone.

And the BS goes on...................................

Boxing News: Bob Arum Claims America Is Rooting For Manny Pacquiao Over Floyd Mayweather Jr., Mayweather-Pacquiao Betting Odds Moving For the Filipino.

However, the sportsbooks expect that at some point money— and support— is going to pour in for Mayweather Jr. as fight night draws near.

Who cares who votes for who, who thinks what and for what reasons.......like Bill Murray put it "It just doesn`t matter".
I`ve yet to see any of these celebs give a concrete reason why they think either will win.....other than they are a fan. Pffft.

BTW....like anyone would believe Arum anyway.

Despite the optimism that both Roach and Top Rank CEO Bob Arum share, Pacquiao remains a +170 underdog against Mayweather.

That`s right Fib....Pac will and should be the underdog going into the fight despite how many "stars" WANT him to win. WANTING or cheering for something doesn`t make it happen.

Foreman favors Pacquiao to defeat Mayweather
AFP
Jim Slater 26 minutes ago
Washington (AFP) - Former world heavyweight champion George Foreman likes Manny Pacquiao over unbeaten Floyd Mayweather in their welterweight showdown next week in Las Vegas and warns a loss could devastate Mayweather.

Foreman has plenty of experience in superfight history, having suffered his first career defeat in a mega-bout spectacular in Zaire to Muhammad Ali in the fabled 1974 "Rumble in the Jungle."

And he sees a strong start for Pacquiao, a big rally by Mayweather but a decision for the Filipino icon, who is 57-5 with two drawn and 38 knockouts.

"I think Pacquiao to win six rounds, the seventh will be kind of even. Mayweather will come on in the last rounds but it will be too late. The fight will be won by a single round," Foreman said.

"Mayweather starts off early looking for a rhythm, Pacquiao will pop him early on, he will tire and Mayweather will come on in the later rounds but he will lose.

"It's going to be a fantastic, amazing boxing match. It will live up to all the hype, it really will."

Foreman knows all-too well the impact on a fighter who goes into such a bout unbeaten and comes out a loser, a fate he predicts for Mayweather, 47-0 with 26 knockouts.

It took Foreman 15 months to climb back into the ring against another opponent after losing to Ali, his first defeat after 40 career wins.

"I'm the one guy who knows what it's like to be undefeated going into a fight like that and to be knocked off that pedestal," Foreman said.

"Pacquiao has it a little better. He is already picked as the underdog. There's not a whole lot of pressure on him. But when you have never lost before in a fight of this magnitude, there's so much pressure on you, more pressure than you have ever had before, more pressure than on any other athlete right now."

It was 1991 before Foreman again fought for a world title and it was not until 1994, just over 20 years after losing to Ali, before Foreman reclaimed the title, defeating Michael Moorer to become, at 45, the oldest champion in heavyweight history.
