Ok i live 2 blocks from Yaqui Lopez's Fat City Boxing Club rumor is that Pacman has suffered
a major injury to his calve muscle he has ruptured his Achilles tendon which could take weeks
to heel.My sources are saying here that they are planning a new date for the fight and will be announced
later today!! I guess many of us knew this would happen!!!

The long awaited sport event of the century, a duel of two of boxing's best pound-for-pound combatants Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Manny Pacquiao is in jeopardy of being postponed pending examination of a serious injury suffered by Pacquiao while jogging early this morning with his entourage of Team Pacquiao.

It appears that a tear in one or both of the muscles of the lower right leg may have occurred as he was turning a corner vigorously. Doctors explained that "Symptoms of a calf muscle strain can vary significantly but in general include a sudden sharp pain at the back of the lower leg. The calf muscle will be tender to touch at the point of injury and swelling and bruising may appear.

"Depending on how bad the calf injury is the athlete may be able to continue in some discomfort or they may be unable to walk in severe pain.

"Calf strains are graded 1, 2 or 3 depending on how bad they are with a grade 3 being the most severe and painful."

Fortune, Pacquiao's trainer insist that this is not the case; that such alleged calf injury is just not true. He explains that Pacquiao is in "great shape". A Reuter's journalist assigned to cover the event, however, observed the event from a distance and reports that he clearly saw the revered athlete from Sarangani, Province, wince holding and massaging his right leg.

Here is more about this injury:

The calf muscles consist of the gastrocnemius muscle which is the big muscle at the back of the lower leg and the soleus muscle which is a smaller muscle lower down in the leg and under the gastrocnemius.

Gastrocnemius is the larger of the two muscles which attaches above the knee joint and inserts into the heel bone via the achilles tendon. The Soleus attaches below the knee joint and then also to the heel via the achilles. Either of these two muscles can be strained.

Both muscles act to plantar flex the ankle or point the foot away from the body as in standing up on tip toes. A calf strain usually occurs at the muscular tendinous junction where the muscles meet the achilles tendon. If the Soleus muscle is damaged there may be pain lower in the leg and also pain when you contract the muscle against resistance with the knee bent.

Calf injuries usually occur through a sudden pushing off force or an over-stretching of the calf muscles such as in jumping or changing direction quickly.

Most boxing fans already knew this fight wouldn't happen EVER and that there would be an excuse of some kind from either camps lets face boxing is a dead , fake and fixed the ufc is the top dog to watch for fighting events for now ! hopefully they can save this once great sport and clean it up.

Another day, another huge star at Manny Pacquiao's L.A. training camp -- this time, Mickey Rourke swung by for a workout ... and TMZ Sports has the footage.

Rourke -- sportin' a camouflage vest and some tight white bike shorts -- hit up Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood ... while Manny was inside gettin' his sweat on.

PacMan has been working out with a BUNCH of big stars lately -- including Tim Tebow, Dave Chappelle and Cuba Gooding Jr. ... and as we previously reported, Muhammad Ali is also rooting for him.

Not a bad fan base.

I caught it right away as I had the chance to go and see him train but this work thingy would not let me... My friend got to go and reported back to me yesterday.. He took a lot of pics. Yep great "article Aqua meister... Beheheheheeee
