That's exactly what I'm doing Paul. I just increased the elevation on my bud by about 1/2" and increased quality on T12 at 15w by about 20%.

I really like this sat position because of English news channels and the Greek channel ERT. I also find that many of the ppv channels are open with foreign subtitles.

but what has me a bit lost i, how do you go about doin what you do?
how do you find all the channels? just only blind scanning?

I cross reference working tp at lyngsat and attempt to get Quality, once I do I nudge the bud till I get the highest quality level. After that I blind scan and that's it. Also, of course, I save the sat position on my positioner for whenever I want to return to that sat.
If you have a wideband feed like I do, I also skew my v and h tp before blind scan.
I've been having problems lately at Intelsat 805 at 55.5w, so I'm not posting my findings there till I resolve my issues.

Just wondering what stb you are using for blind scan. I use a cw700s. It is very slow and I thought it did a pretty fair job until now. I have been trying to find the Patient Channel for a long time and using tp 11720 , as per Lyngsat, I found nothing. Many blind scans did not pick up 11716. Once I entered it, I had 92% Q and got the Patient Channel right away. Thanks

EC, I'm using my Pansat 3500 for c band and at the moment I'm using my kbox prodigy for ku band. The kbox takes forever to blind scan but seems to be up to the task. I've always caught the patient channel, never had issues pulling it in.
My Pansat crapped out on me again, every time it retains too much info I have to factory default. The only good thing about that is I get to start all over again.

I have fired up my first stb and still my fav unit
the trusty CS6k. I am on the "Wet Coast" [pun intended]
not far from secheltpaul so I am looking forward to the next
installment. Stumbling across wildfeeds can be quite entertaining
while doing blindscans, plus I have found the odd HD that I can transfer over
to the nfusion HD. The only thing I have found with the CS6k is that on feeds with AC3 audio
it won't output the sound thru reg audio and I don't have a digital recv to hook up with a Toslink.

No problemo Timetripper, If I wasn't loco about this I wouldn't be doing it. I have a cs6k as well and have used it for blind scanning in the past, but I'm using it with an r-link in my sons' room. I was having problems as well with audio on some AC3 channels and I hooked up my pansat3500 up to my surround sound tuner and voila volume. Stay dry my friend.

I've always had a problem bringing this sat in, the usual encrypted tp at 12193 V SR 7885 is my beacon tp. However I was successful in getting 2 channels here, a shame I'm not on c band because there are alot of open channels:

No problemo Paul, however having finished my scans- haven't documented yet. There isn't much on ku on this side. I'm seriously looking into slapping an lnbf back on the 6' instead if the invacom quad. Only reason I changed feeds was for iks, but my family never watches tv in the basement.
I'll give my Montreal sat supplier a call and maybe pick up a Geosat lnbf- any other suggestions?

I purchased 2 GEOSATpro CK1's last year.Still havent used em yet.Not been able to find a 1.2 meter dish that I want to use for experimenting with them.Also got 2 10 foot mesh dishes I can have but no place to install really.I need to move to the country lol.

What a shame that you can't put the buds up. All cities have bylaws concerning the height of sat dishes. I'm in Cornwall, where many people have old c band buds. City bylaw allows for the same as a chimney, 90'.

With this sat locale, this brings an end to My Arc2, however, I just ordered a DMX741 lnbf and will finish off the arc from 105-125w in c band as well.

Lnbf came in yesterday, the new dmx741- spent the last day or so trying for optimum quality, I got gems channel on G17 with 70% quality but I get the same channel with 98% on my bud. I've got to keep in perspective that I'm scanning c band with a 6' solid, not ideal for those tough signals.

Geez, 70% on a 6' dish sure doesn't sound too shabby at all.

Actually, I'm quite impressed with the quality on c band but I've lost almost all quality on ku band. Think I'll finish up this arc thread on c band and do a bit more skewing with the lnbf when I'm done.

Final sat of my arc. It's been great to have done this a second time and complete it in both bands. Many of you may have discrepacies with the channels I have documented but do remember that footprints and spotbeams vary as to location.
I hope everybody keeping track of this thread has learnt something. As for interest, I've never seen so many members plunging into the bud scene- just that is a reward for posting MY ARC.

Thanks for doing a second scan of the arc Costa. What a great Job you have done with this. It’s incredible the number of channels you picked up. Yes I am sure there must be a Hugh interest in the c-band department including me. One day I will get a bud. Just need to warm up the chainsaw!

After countless blind scans and different skew settings, I finally have a working channel list. By the way a great sat for international soccer and I used to watch NFL on a Mexican channel as well.:

I'll move my bud over there later and have a looksie, probably AC3 audio.

I just moved my bud over to Intelsat 805 and I'm not getting any signal on tp 3604. I skewed the feed but nothing. If you have an open channel with no audio and all your cables are ok it's more likely than not AC3 Dolby audio. I have my pansat set up with a surround tuner for AC3.

i have an awia surround system (AV-X120) which i hooked it to this mornin and nothing but its also an old system i have there. . .

what about some of the channels where i hear sound but no video?

If you hooked up the optic cable from stb to tuner and set the tuner to line 2 and your tv audio to center then you should get AC3 audio. On the channels where you have audio but no video means they are encrypted, usually powervu.

I'm using my 10' bud with c/ku. The only problem here is that my main feed goes into my Pansat 3500 and I have a loop out to the AZbox; because of the servo motor I have to change tp on the pansat for proper polarity befor scanning on the AZbox.

I've been having issues at 55.5 and 58w lately. I literally have to skew the poop out of my feed to open channels I know are there, not quite sure why. Negative on both hd at 58w.

Yes Paul, i spent almost a week aligning that BUd to southern sat until finally got the arc, but still needs to fine/tune to get weaker signals. The bad news is that only one of the lnbs it's working, I can't get both polarizations just one at time, DMX741 will be my option for c/ku, and a new actuator.
