7 ET: Watch Mayweather's LIVE training session from Las Vegas
The Money Team curtain is being pulled back.
Five-division world champion –- and incumbent two-belt welterweight kingpin -– Floyd Mayweather Jr. will participate in an open workout at his Mayweather Boxing Club on Tuesday, providing a glimpse at his preparation for the May 2 unification match with Manny Pacquiao.
CBSSports.com will LIVE stream the event at 7 p.m. EST. Pacquiao is scheduled for his own open workout on Wednesday, which CBSSports.com will also have available via LIVE stream.
"This is an unbelievable matchup," Mayweather said at the press conference that officially announced the fight last month. "I've never wanted to win a fight so bad in my life."
No formal press events are scheduled between now and fight week, so the fighters are unlikely to go face-to-face until then. Team Pacquiao has taken the verbal lead, primarily in the form of veteran trainer Freddie Roach, in what's been fairly docile verbal sparring between the camps.
Roach said at the opening press conference that Pacquiao would "kick his ass," and has made intermittent remarks since then suggesting that Mayweather's been beaten up in sparring sessions ad suggesting that potential Pacquiao sparring partners have been steered away by Mayweather's advisers.
Mayweather, on the other hand, has been relatively silent throughout the build-up, but he's never more than a microphone's length away from creating headlines of his own.
