Meet Kenny, a tiger who was "selectively inbred" in the USA to try and create the perfect tiger due to the demand for exotic pets dramatically increasing.

His parents were brother and sister, As such, Kenny has ended up with some unfortunate side effects. Looking at this face, Kenny appears to have downs syndrome, although this diagnosis is questionable.

What Kenny does have however, is significant physical limitations as well as mental retardation.

Unfortunately, due to the gene pool of white tigers being so limited, inbreeding is an inevitable consequence. Most of Kenny's brothers and sisters were stillborn or died very young.

“Kenny was non-aggressive, very friendly with our staff members and an obvious favorite with visitors because of his personality. Most people ‘fell in love’ with his friendliness combined with his strange looks. To them, and to us, he was beautiful. He shared his enclosure with his brother for the eight years that he was with us”

Sadly, Kenny died at the age of ten, around half the lifespan of a typical captive tiger.
