There was a regular card hit around 4:00 PM this afternoon that knocked out all servers. It was a regular hit just killing the cards - so the cards just have to be replaced with new receivers and cards.
Some of the private servers have about 100 channels back up now.

They hit 4 weeks ago on Tue April 7 at the same time. Most servers had about half their channels back up late that night - but then they hit the cards again the next day on Wednesday. So it may be a rough couple of days if they hit everything tomorrow also. That's a lot of wasted cards for the seeders.

So what don't we talk about how they could be hitting the cards, maybe it's not through the data stream maybe it's a clock pulse....

Used to be they could only change key. Lets figure out whats doing the card being out of the IRD and try to figure out how to make seeder look exactly like IRD?

Testers have pretty much tried everything - but so far none of it has worked.
It is extremely hard to make your card server look like a regular IRD and I think most of the seeders have figured it is easier to just replace the receivers and cards every 4 weeks than to spend more money trying to figure it out.

They could shut down all cards servers right now if they wanted to and they have done it 4 or 5 times in the past year already - but they always pull the ECM after a couple of days. I'm guessing they don't want everyone jumping over to IPTV because that is almost impossible for them to shut down. The IPTV guys are getting stronger everyday and are just waiting for the Provider to shut down IKS so they can have their big payday.

What part do you consider a rumour?
The only "guessing" part was that the Provider has chosen not to shut down IKS because they are afraid of IPTV - sounds reasonable to me - there are a few other reasons I can think of for not shutting it down - but this one makes more sense to me.
I never said that was "a fact" - but was guessing- so no rumour there.

The rest I can assure you is all based on facts - but I'm willing to listen if you think otherwise :-)

I would think if they were afraid of that there would be a lot of complaining regarding the legit IPTV services like Netflix and their isn't and they are licensed to do so. Charles never had the capabilities to kill it until just recently but when they do you will know it. They much prefer a dozen big servers up with everybody broadcasting status reports of up or down than 10 thousand small ones all underground and only serving 10 to 20 people each. And don't think the day the sky does go black everybody is off the hook because they have enough evidence to keep the courts busy until the statute of limitations runs out.

I can not see how Charles can kill illegal IPTV if it is being streamed from legal receivers - either cable or satellite. There is a "rumour" that they can - but again that is just a "rumour" not a fact. They say they can flash the subscribed receiver ID on the screen - but that is just a "rumour" and I don't think this is the rumour section.
Right now Charlie can kill any IKS server whenever they want - large or small. Do you not think that is a fact?
When IPTV takes off - Charlie may be able to kill the big boys - but will not be able to shut down the small private IPTV servers.
So right now IKS is not much of a threat to them - but a few thousand smaller private IPTV servers is a much larger threat to them IMO.

I don't rely on the large public IKS servers - I prefer the small private ones - so I will not be relying on the large public IPTV servers - I will rely on a small private one and good luck to Charlie if he thinks he can shut it down. IMO it is next to impossible and I will debate anyone on that issue.

I'm not sure who said anyone would be "off the hook when the sky falls " - sure wasn't me.

SECOND CARD HIT WEDNESDAY MAY 6/15 4:00 PM

They hit all cards again today around 4:00 PM - so it is back to square one for most seeders. A lot of seeders were expecting the second hit today, just like they did in April, so they didn't put all of their new cards in the card servers yesterday - they can now use those cards today. Some have already done that and a few servers have about 200 channels up and going now.

Let's hope they don't go for a triple wammy tomorrow :-(

I've given up on IKS. I setup a cband mesh dish and using an openbox receiver to watch everything for free and no ecms or freezing.
