why do video's on this site come in so slow

does anyone else have this problem ?
videos posted on this site are coming in really slow,, frame by frame
once it's completely played once, then video play seems to play regularly ....
whats up with that , any ideas?

that is what I am thinking as well, I am not sure why any one would even go to the trouble of making videos using animated gifs. they are really intended for simple graphics or blinking text type deals on a website. they are not even used so much any more as they will make even the faster websites lag and there are better alternatives today for animation purposes.
