If Bev needs to change their old MPEG 2 Receivers(2700,3100,4100,5100,5900) in order to implement Anycast which they have not even begun.Even if they were to begin tomorrow it would probably take at least 6 Months to complete.And besides they might never do because they are boosting Money,time and effort in their Newer Fibe network.

atleast 6 months, some of those receivers are in the most desolate outposts of Canadian society that changing even one can be a daunting task. not to mention the entire Telus Satellite TV service is piggy-backed off of Bell, so we'd need to see 2 companies synchronize and box-swap.

But also time-consuming. And worse, money-consuming... for 2 companies, that as mentioned above, are more focused on Fibe and their other wings of businesses (satellite being only a small faction of each corporations bottom line).

Bev has been a little choppy lately probably due to everyone jumping ship from the DN servers. I would assume the powers that be that are running the Bev IKS Servers are beefing them up as we speak to handle all the extra "testers" coming over. At the end of the day, just enjoy it while it's here. No one know for sure what will happen in the future.

Well, it won't be a lot. The BEV footprint is very tight, so most in the lower 48 are out of luck.

that does not make big news.....thats just business as usual.....they could even done that from Soviet Union are u aware we pay the russians to launch our pay loads into space because is cheaper than NASA.

they don't have to put up a new satellite to switch modulation techniques or to switch compression ....

it's not a rumor that charlie is switching all of the transponders from QPSK to 8PSK ...

although, I will agree that at this point in time, it's still all speculation when it comes to how and when they will implement anyCast ...

of course ... No one uses NASA to launch satellites, too much money invested to let NASA screw it up ... the Russians have proven to be far more dependable and everyone has been using them for years :)

I am only thinking out loud about, the satellites, as you say, they probably can, press a few buttons, to change things over, it was just my thoughts on it, wondering would they have to put a new satellite up, to do the change over?

That was asked and answered in previous posts.
You can think of the satellite TP as "bent pipes"--they take what you send up to them and put that signal on a different frequency and send it right back down. No processing of the signal takes place on the satellite just a frequency shift and amplification.
