A woman in Canada, (don't remember the location) stopped her car on a freeway to help some ducks cross the road. A father and daughter on bike slammed into the car and were killed. Woman ended up doing some jail time.

i agree with booter , should've just picked them up ........ that looks like californian's nightmare freeways ......... prolly caused a wreck some-where ..... moved them off to the shoulder where the sound wall is , just to die ?

either way if is a california freeway A: he is crazy for riding a bike , B: playing frogger with his life ;x

The only time I would slow down or stop on a busy freeway like that would be if a moose or deer were in the way which could cause damage or injury. Like fn59 in post #5 stated a lady did the same thing with ducks on a highway in the Quebec area and caused the death of a motorcyclist and his daughter. The long trial in the courts found her guilty by a jury on two counts of criminal negligence causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing death. The ducks were fine!
