My daughter and son had their cars broken into a couple times each while in our driveway a few years ago. I had a buddy who was renovating his store and upgrading his old cameras with new state of the art stuff. I got 3 of the cameras (none worked) but we bolted them in plain view on the front and side of the garage and ran a fake wire laying it in the eaves. They did the trick just fine and my next door neighbors nor the guy across the street has had any problems since. I figured if would be trouble got close enough to inspect that they were fakes....deterrent as per post #2 could have them.
