A few notes from around the boxing world:
• Junior middleweight Julian "J Rock" Williams (20-0-1, 12 KOs), who was very impressive taking apart Arman Ovsepyan over six one-sided rounds on Saturday night, has been promised a higher-profile fight by adviser Al Haymon come September and he knows who he wants to fight: former junior middleweight titleholder Austin Trout. "I got the knockout [against Ovsepyan] and I'm ready for the next stage of my career," Williams said. "I am calling out the entire division, but I'd like to start with Austin Trout. I turned 25 in April and I need to start building my resume because I want to be in the boxing Hall of Fame someday."
• Fedor Chudinov (13-0, 10 KOs) of Russia will defend his super middleweight belt -- the secondary variety -- against England's Frank Buglioni (16-1-1, 12 KOs) at London's SSE Wembley Arena on July 24, promoter Frank Warren announced on Monday. Chudinov will be making the first defense of the vacant strap he won via upset split decision against Felix Sturm in Germany on May 9. Middleweight contender Billy Joe Saunders (21-0, 11 KOs) will appear in the co-feature against an opponent to be named in his final tune-up before an expected fall mandatory title shot against world titleholder Andy Lee.
• Puerto Rico's McJoe Arroyo (16-0, 8 KOs), 29, will face Arthur Villanueva (27-0, 14 KOs), 26, of the Philippines for a vacant junior bantamweight world title on July 18 (Showtime, 10 p.m. ET) at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas. They will battle for the 115-pound belt recently vacated by Zolani Tete of South Africa. Arroyo-Villanueva will open the broadcast headlined by super middleweight Julio Cesar Cesar Chavez (48-2-1, 32 KOs) taking on Mexican countryman Marcos Reyes (33-2, 24 KOs).
• It will be quadrupleheader action on July 17 for a "ShoBox: The New Generation" card at the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Middleweitght prospect Antoine Dougas (17-1, 11 KOs) will headline against Istvan Szili (18-0-2, 8 KOs) in a 10-round bout. Also on the telecast: middleweight Derrick Webster (19-0, 10 KOs) against Arif Magomedov (15-0, 9 KOs), junior featherweight Adam Lopez (12-0, 6 KOs) taking on Eliecer Aquino (17-0-1, 11 KOs) and super middleweight Jerry Odom (13-1, 12 KOs) squaring off with Samuel Clarkson (14-3, 8 KOs).
