I get 91 no problem. 91 is port 1 on disec. Added the bracket so that the 82 lnb is on the left (looking into the dish bowl) and hooked it into disec port 2. Yet I get no signal. Both lnbs, switch and cables are tested and work. 91 is set to port 1 and 82 is set to port 2. I dont get it. What at I doing wrong? I get 85% I even tried hooking just 82 up and searching for it. Nothing. Tried all transponders. Please help me im so frustrated.

when you say bracket is it a metal offset bracket or a plastic bracket that says 91 & 82 or 119 & 110

What type dish?

A single LNB type? (called a prime focus)
A dish 500? (can use 2 LNB's with it's special bracket)
An elliptical? (with an aftermarket bracket)

And to get both satellites you will have to move the dish in-between the two, then skew the dish for both, the satellites are in an arc across the sky, the dish needs to be aligned with this arc to receive both satellites at once.

The best setup for 91 and 82 is a Dish 500 with two single DP type LNB's, then you can use any type switch you have on hand.

Also 82W is mostly all HD transponders, try for 82W by using TP12443, this is an SD transponder and should help.

It could be that you are picking up 91 from the 82 lnb. Veryify that you are getting 91 of the correct lnb, and that it is in fact locking on 91. I am assumming that you have the offset bracket.. Once locked on 91(from the correct port/lnb) you should be seeing 82, but you do have a little play within the bracket to move it up or down a bit. try it. It is also possible that your elevation is off to begin with... to low or too high. So it may pick up 91 with the ofset braket, but may need adjusted to find 82. A little playing and you'll find it.

My Bev dish is around 50 elevation. but depends on where you are.

The dish is the old smaller DTV dish, not a 500. It does not skew and is smaller than the 500. The lnb that is in the arm is 91 and gets 91. I just added the metal bracket to get 82 but cant get it.

EDIT i do have a lot of play with the 82 but so far nothing while playing with it.

"And to get both satellites you will have to move the dish in-between the two"

I will try changing the elevation as i set it according to 91 elevation

That dish is too small for two satellites, it's receive beamwidth is too small, it can't effectively see both satellites and give proper signal to both LNB's at once, also without any way to skew the LNB's (one LNB higher or lower then the other) your going to have problems with two satellites.

It would be better to get a Dish 500 pan and bracket, you can then use your existing LNB's.

A Dish 500 is setup for two satellites at the same time.

Without a way to skew the dish (or LNB's) it may be a fun time, with lots of hair pulling.

Try dishpointer.com, it has a selection for 82 and 91, it will give you a map with a line on it pointing at where the satellites should be from where your dish is located, just zoom it your location (after you enter your address) and move the marker to where the dish is, then click on it.

both what 119 and 110 many people used the old dtv 18" dish with a metal offset bracket but that dish and bracket can't get both 91 & 82 at the same time.

OK then if it worked before, then what changed from before??

Different LNB's?? They don't look to be the same, one looks older the the other.

Different bracket??

And with that bracket you don't have to skew the dish, one LNB is lower the nthe other, is that bracket centered on the dish arm? or is one LNB offset to one side of the dish arm? If it's offsetting one LNB then what one is being used for 91W?

I had a subbed reciever on this dish. i lost the lnbs and bracket so i got 1 lnb from a friend and got 91. then i went to the sat store and got the same bracket i had before and another lnb.

i guess im crazy or was just lucky. I give up anyways.

Thanks guys.

Never give up, just take a break, have a cold one, or go eat something.

We will be here to help.

Did you try the dishpointer site yet??
And try using that SD transponder for 82W??

pretty certain that bracket is for getting 110 & 119 not 82 & 91 if i'm correct you will only catch one satellite at a time.

how long a go did you have this running 82 sat did change could be arm length

Going on 110/119 setup but wouldn't the lnb on the arm be set to the elevation for the 82 and then the 91 would be to the left? I used this setup years ago in the picture below to get 110/119...if memory serves me right 110 was on the arm and the 119 was to the left behind the dish. Used rubber bands to hold it together while I adjusted then once I got it set used tie straps to hold it together...using a tie strap to pull the feed horns together helped a lot with the signal on the 119. I could be wrong when it comes to the 82/91 setup...been a long time since I could get them this far south.

saggy
06-16-2015, 11:01 PM
with plastic one you should not have to skew dish but some cases very few seen it had to be done if you getting 91 you should get 82 with plastic bracket

you say where you are look at your neighbours that the bracket you need plastic side by side

so i moved the darn bird feeder that you see in the pic and got 61% signal and 65% quality. it doesnt say what sat im on but im going to assume its 82. Ill keep messing with the dish pointing when my old lady gets home.

Damn bird feeder!! lol

both bell and dish use this bracket but your dish has to have a skew ajustment and the lnb's you have will not fit this yoke they must be d-shaped lnb's.

The sat guy said this bracket is for the old DTV dishes that dont skew.

Will this work on that dish?

kijiji

those lnb's will fit that yoke / bracket but the 18" dtv dish dose not have a skew arm so again you will only get one satellite not both do you still have the dish 500 or a dish that skews cause that's what you need to get both.

skidkid
06-16-2015, 11:30 PM
I have a dish 500 that skews and is actually a bell dish but its pointed at 119 110
if i can get 119 110 with the small dish and metal bracket ill swap the 2 dishes. Does anyone know if 119 & 110 are obtainable on the small dish with metal bracket? I was told it is the same for 119/110 & 91/82

Terryl
06-16-2015, 11:32 PM
I think I see what the problem is, one of the LNB's is walleyed, it's not straight on the bracket, and those LNB's don't fit too good on that bracket, they are too close together and are pushing each other away, one LNB is pushed backwards.

To save your hair I would look around for a used dish 500 with a DP twin LNB on it. Less hassle.

A dish 500 has the skew adjustments so you don't need to mess with any brackets.

And any dish setup for 110 and 119 will work fine for 82 and 91, the LNB spacing is the same between the two groups.(9 degrees on both)
