STB freezes every few minutes due to distance to acces point. Is there a way to install a second router next to the stb and wire them and connect this second router to the first one far away from my box, wireless, of course?
To better explain: first router is connected to the modem in my living room. My STB is back in the last room of the house. If I connect a second router in my room and join the first in the living room, does this may work once the second router is wired to my STB? Thanks

Get a new router, amped wireless has routers that will put out 600 milli watts, that will extend the range of your WIFI coverage.

Most WIFI routers only put out 200 Milli watts.

a lot of things make no sense in your original post.
First off your house must be bigger than the astrodome. I do a WIFI scan in my neighborhood and I can see on average at least a dozen different routers and some are 2 blocks away at any given time. If it is weak signal causing it then do like Terryl suggested. Your 1/4 watt output is equivalent to 250 milliwatts so get a better router with more output. usually with wireless connections you either have signal or you don't have signal and it should not be fluctuating back and forth unless you are moving the router around.
It sounds more like a router hardware or settings issue or the wireless dongle is not making a good connection. The original jynxboxes had that issue. I suspect the clones do as well. Try plugging the wireless dongle into a different USB port and see if t makes any difference
