Floyd Mayweather still hasn’t relinquished his titles as promised, but one sanctioning organization is taking matters into its own hands.
The WBO on Monday stripped the pound-for-pound king of his welterweight title for failure to comply with rules, the organization announced. Timothy Bradley will be elevated from interim champion to “regular” champ.

After Mayweather won the WBO title from Manny Pacquiao in the May 2 superfight, he failed to pay the accompanying $200,000 sanctioning fee and also was asked to vacate his titles at WBC/WBA titles at junior middleweight. If he did both of those things, the WBO said, he would keep his title.
But after Mayweather indicated he would relinquish all his titles to give younger fighters a chance, the WBO sanctioned the Bradley-Jessie Vargas fight on June 27 for the vacant title. When Mayweather caught wind of the news, he became angry, and asked reporters how he could be stripped of a belt he never actually received.

After corresponding with Mayweather’s attorney, John Hornewer, the WBO elected to give Mayweather extra time to pay the fee and vacate his belts at 154 pounds. After numerous failed attempts to reach him before Friday’s deadline, the WBO said it had no choice but to strip him of the title so that the organization’s 147-pound division did not stagnate.
Bradley will be mandated to defend his belt against No. 1 contender Sadam Ali, and that bout could take place on Nov. 21 in Dubai, promoter Bob Arum said.
It’s unclear if and when Mayweather will relinquish his remaining belts (two at 147 and two at 154) as he planned to do after his victory over Pacquiao.
“I want to give other fighters a chance,” Mayweather said at the time. “I’m not greedy. I’m fortunate to be a champion in two weight classes right now. I’m the undisputed welterweight champion. I have the WBC and WBA belt at super welterweight. I have the WBO, WBA and WBC at 147. It’s time to let other fighters fight for the belts.”
Mayweather had never held a WBO belt before beating Pacquiao.

Well, Paco and Arum joining in one of many Machiavellian moves. They joined to take the 147 welterweight title from Cotto at a catch weight of 145, now they stripped PBF from the same title. Varcarcel is puertorican but from another mother, know what I mean!!

He let them take the title away, knowing Varcarcel and Arum were behind all. He just don't want any part of them. Now, how come they didn't give the title to Manny? Obviously, it would've looked so bad. They have other plans for it that will end up there anyways. You just need to read. Haters will always be, no matter what. 49-0 still be there for them....... lmao

Exactly Highway.... I also firmly believe that boxing history will also be the judge of that... As I have said before he will not even be considered in the top 10 boxers when history writes about him......

He'll be numero 1 in $$$$$ earned as a Gladiator, Manager and Owner in Boxing History.
Aly, Sugar Ray, Marciano will fall short by a mile.
Chaves or any Mexican, Puerto Rican or Filipino fighter will fall even shorter.

you're right about haters being haters ...
and ,, haters are going to be haters because Floyd didn't fight PacMan 5 years ago ......
and for that ,, he'll never be credited (by the haters)

but let's take a look at what happened 5 years ago ,, or since PacMan refused to take the drug test

5 years ago Floyd was 40 - 0 (Not Bad!!!!) fought and beat in succession

Shane Mosley
Victor Ortiz
Miguel Cotto
Robert Guerrero
Saul Alvarez
Marcos Rene Maidana
Marcos Rene Maidana ( a second time ,, just to be sure)

Not bad !!! 47 - 0

who was there, that he ditched ??
who should he had fought instead of these guys??
were these guys not worthy opponents??

Finally when Pac takes the drug test ,, Floyd destroys him ,, makes him look foolish ,,
makes him leave Vegas crying ,, my arm !! my arm !! ,,, LOLOLOLOL

To all the haters ,, had Floyd fought him 5 years ago , he would have hurt him worse
he would have left Vegas crying,, my arm! ,,my nose! ,,my eyes! ,, my ear!! ,,my jaw!!
5 years ago and at 33 Floyd would have Facked him up !!

The shoulda fought 5 years ago makes me laugh ,, since Manny is 2 years YOUNGER
..... clearly 5 years later puts Floyd at a disadvantage fighting a 36 year old at 38

Love him or hate him ,, he is PBF and P4P the best there is ,, the best there ever was
and the best there ever will be .... and that's not me saying that ,,, it's the numbers talking

oh yeah ,, and finally, being a good little italian boy from " la familia" "la cosanostra" we're not
quite sure how many fights Rocky won and how many The Mob won for him .... those were
different times, where,,,, when the Mob bet on you, they told the other guy to drop and he
had better drop or else bullets went flying ..

which adds credibility to Floyd's record cause more wanted him to drop than there were those
lending support.
