I have no signal issues with any of the south sats mentioned.. Everything coming in and working great so far here this morning. :yes:

Well the post that came out a while back had a date of July 22...from what I'm seeing there is more to this than a normal ecm...never seen and ecm with a drop out of Q & S. I'll say this if this is the new system they were to be putting into place rescanning will not help nor moving to the eastern arc. Imo if it was as easy as moving over to another satellite or rescanning why would DN go through the trouble and money to implement a new system to kill out piracy? There maybe channels here and there that will come in with a rescan but they to will go black in time...again just my opinion.

I'm just guessing, but could anycast be used just for the new service Charlie is going to have, T4 or something like that?? I would think since Bev switched everything to MPEG 4 before Charlie, and it's still up on IKS, DN may still be up for quite a while even when it's all converted over to MPEG 4?? Just a thought??

not yet anyway, though I find all the 'Action Required' warning channels on 110w (306, 204, 148, 125, 864) to be a bit discomforting :eek:

I decided to to a factory reset on the bedroom STB yesterday and during the rescan I had to change info on 5 different transponders on 110 to get a signal and be able to scan them, these are the changes i had to make

12355 - Changed Symbol Rate from 20000 to 21500 KS/s
12384 - Changed Symbol Rate from 20000 to 21500 KS/s and changed Polarity from H to V
12472(8PSK) - Changed Polarity from H to V
12501(8PSK) - Changed Polarity from H to V
12545(8PSK) - Changed Polarity from V to H
12574 - both 8PSK and QPSK - NO SIGNAL
12588 - both 8PSK and QPSK - NO SIGNAL

I have not done a rescan on this box in several months so I am not sure if these changes are anything new or not but for me to get a signal and scan those few transponders I had to make those changes and now I see all the 'Action Required' channels and they are all on 110w. I figure this is just more of the switch over from mpeg2 to mpeg4 and not anything to do with the anyCast drama but have no idea for sure :noidea:

There has been a schedule change for the full conversion of the 110 and 119 transponders.

On August 6 all 110 Transponders will convert to 8PSK.
On August 20 all 119 Transponder will convert to 8PSK.

Also, Transponder 16 on 110 and Transponder 14 on 110 will remain QPSK temporarily to support the Welcome Pack for Seasonal properties.

91 west still mpeg 2 qpsk. I don't see the problem though as long as you have a hd receiver turbo 8psk mpeg 4. Kills SD boxes though. Don't think I will invest in a new receiver with the quality of Kodi

Perhaps they are doing this to simplify and or cut costs by compressing signals and etc.The main goal of all Companies is to lower costs by putting less chips,cereals,juice in containers,slim down diameters or replace an ingreadiant with a cheaper one.
They might want to make Piracy harder, but eliminating it completely might have some customers that also do testing drop Dish altogether if the testing part is dead.Also lots of the Dish testing is done North and South of the Border where it has no effect on their revenue.
I just think they have done this for their own interests.Maybe on the same token it will give them more flexibility for ECM'S and Etc but I don't believe they invested for Anti-Piracy as their main goal.

I went through the transponder list and it looks like they switched a whole bunch more transponders over to mpeg4. So to get the channels back you need to make some changes.. It looks like all the transponders except for these 5 ( 12443, 12516, 12603, 12632 & 12661 ) need to be changed.

First these changes are required

If you are using an old SD receiver then these changes will not help you, the reason for this has been explained around many times.:yes:

It is for me on Jynxbox ultra HD. I have 3 active south servers at the moment and none of them are showing any picture on any of the updated 110 transponders. The channels that are working on 110 are the ones that were not changed in the recent TP switch. Either way you are right Nos, folks with SD box's should not run out and buy any new hardware just yet. There is a lot still in the air.. :yes:

You should have signal on all the channels once the TPs are changed, but not picture until the servers / seeders figure it all out on their end which I have no idea what that entails. If you have picture on the changed TPs like channels (307, 313, 314, 341 ect..) any of the channels on the changed TP's are not yet active for me on the services I am subscribed to atm. :noidea:

I thought everyone might keep a level head about all this but I can see most have gone completely off the reservation so to speak. Seeing some of the stuff being posted some would have had a hemorrhage back in 2006 when it was down close to 3 months...although we had as tractor trailer load of locals...but they all had about the same line up just in different locations and time zones lol.

Well folks, it's a good morning for this gal! :dancing_peng: I wake up so see the 110's are back on at least one of my services. I have not tested every channel (busy morning today) but all the 300's that were missing are all back in action with picture on the new mpeg4 Transponder settings on 110. :thumbsup:

My settings ? I did not need to rescan only had to update the TP list. Every Transponder on 110 has a strong signal after making the changes that I posted earlier in this thread.

After that I just waited until the servers did their upgrade too and they came back in with out needing a rescan of any kind. The channels did not move thus a rescan is not necessary. Just had to wait for the code words to start rolling back in :yes:

There are still 5 active transponders operating on 20000KS/s which would likely be that handful of channels. Check out post #77 in this thread, I explained all the changes I had to make to get signal back on all the missing channels from the switch over. Once your TP list is up to date u should have a whole lot more than a handful of channels back on 110.

Update:

I went through the transponder list and it looks like they switched a whole bunch more transponders over to mpeg4. So to get the channels back you need to make some changes.. It looks like all the transponders except for these 5 ( 12443, 12516, 12603, 12632 & 12661 ) need to be changed.

First these changes are required



All the other transponders in the list (besides the 5 mentioned above) need the Symbol Rate changed from 20000 KS/s to 21500 KS/s but leave the Polarity and other settings the same.

If you are using an old SD receiver then these changes will not help you, the reason for this has been explained around many times.:yes:

It's telling you that because it's probably there already! If you scroll down on the TP list you will probably find it there! It will say that every time you are duplicating a TP

I only had use of it for 2 days before it froze.. we did a hard reboot but it never turned back on, no power at all. But from what I remember the EPG annoyed me as it only had 3 or 4 items listed per page, our sub box has 6 per page and the Jynxbox's have 5. So it was just a personal preference for my eyes and what I am used to using :yes:

if you have a sonicview 8000 hd make sure auto tp is turned on and rescan sats 110 and 119 when you do this echo 7 will be echo 10 and echo 8 will be echo 14 there is a file out in sonicview 800 hd section to do this either way you will not an epg i let mine sit channel 200 for 12 hrs still no epg maybe after they get this all changed then maybe we will have a guide hope this helps also porns are up on echo 14

Just an fyi but from my read they are converting most if not all on 119...seems some tp's may still stay mpeg2 as before but looks as if most are showing no signal. But it you change the symbol rate, modulation and FEC as with tp's on the 110 the Q & S returns. Still have to wait for the servers to do their thing as before. Example below:

The doom of IKS has nothing to do with MPEG4...............that's a compression change, not encryption.
