My V2 was suddenly out. I have tried remote with "aspect button" to bring it down 480i, gone thru reset with remote, tried pc upgrade, all nothing happen. I am now trying eprom upgrade. I have 2 questions.
1- How long is the synchronizing STB process?
2- Do I have to turn the STB power on ?
Any help is really appreciated. I have been down for past couple weeks and trying to get it back.

I had issues with no picture / not supported when using the RCA outputs because the 'Video Resolution' and 'Aspect Mode' were not set to AUTO under A/V settings.. But the HDMI output would work fine.. At this time I was using the HDMI output for the main tv and RCA out to a second older television in another room.
Which output are you trying to use, or have you tried both rca and hdmi ? I am not sure on the eprom upgrade details but I am skeptical that would make much of a difference with a no video issue. I would think loading the factory file would reset the aspect and video settings back to default (Auto) which should give back picture, that is if the problem is due to the video settings in the box.

I had tried different HDMI cable and RCA cable and used remote Aspect Mode to scan thru video resolution. I am trying to load the factory file thru PC but it can not communicate although all port setting was correct. The box display channel numbers and this problem happened before. last time I was able to revive the STB, this time is a little bit challenging so that why I got into to reset the EPROM.

Using the Aspect button on the remote is pretty useless, there are A LOT of ratio's in that list and you have to pause for a few seconds between each press or it does not switch ect.. so trying to use it with no picture is a waste of time.
I suspect the problem is not with the video settings since most tv's which use HDMI would display 'Not Supported' or 'Signal not Supported' or some variation when you have a compatibility issue with the video settings. You are only seeing a black screen which could point to a hardware issue :(
I could give you step by step on remote to do factory reset 'blind' so to speak with the remote though I have doubts that it is a settings issue so it may not do any good..

I did go thru factory reset "blind" but nothing. I am really pulling my hair now.

I hear ya.. as sad as it sounds the box might be toast.. :( If you did a factory reset properly you would not see a channel number when it boots up and since it does boot up just does not display leads me to believe there is no problem with the eprom.. but hell anything is worth a shot at this point i suppose.
If factory resets are not working, and you can not connect to the box via serial cable then there is a hardware issue with the box.
