Probably so Rokko unless David connects first cause the kid can hit.
Whether to the body or chin.
we'll just have to wait and see( as a gambler will bet Lemieux cause the odd will be good cause of that glass chin).
That for sure lol

In my opinion, the key to a Lemieux victory would be to come out and start
throwing bombs.. hopefully nail the G man with one...
He must know that if he gets hit first its good night Irene.
Kinda a Haglar vs Hearns thing...
The G man is a pretty good boxer.. I like him in 5.

I like LEMIEUX's chances based on what I had already posted here:http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?186387-FORGET-WARD!-GGG-may-face-DAVID-LEMIEUX-October-17&p=1162079#post1162079
GGG is very methodical. He is cool and steady. Just how his style would prevail depends upon "a big unknown" - Lemieux's unpredictability and relentless attack.

‘Full Credit to David Lemieux for Stepping Up’ says Tom Loeffler / Golovkin v Lemieux By Olly Campbell | July 26, 2015 |
http://i2.wp.com/www.boxing247.com/wp-content/uploads/1-LemieuxRosadoPrePC_Hoganphotos2.jpg?fit=420%2C280 (http://www.boxing247.com/boxing-news/full-credit-to-david-lemieux-for-stepping-up-says-tom-loeffler-golovkin-v-lemieux/44184)
Boxing fans the world over were rejoicing last night at the news big hitting middleweights Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux are set to face off in a huge unification showdown, live on HBO PPV on October 17th at the legendary Mecca of boxing, Madison Square Garden.
Newly crowned IBF champion Lemieux had thought to be first considering making a mandatory defence of the title he won last month against Hassan N’Dam, although earlier this week his promoter Oscar DeLa Hoya had confirmed provisional talks to make the fight had begun.
And a pair of tweets from both fighters yesterday confirmed the much-anticipated bout was now a reality, with WBO champion Golovkin tweeting;
“I will fight @Lemieuxboxing (http://twitter.com/Lemieuxboxing) in a middleweight title unification on #October17 @TheGarden (http://twitter.com/TheGarden) & on @HBO (http://twitter.com/HBO) PPV! #GolovkinLemieux
Lemieux wrote simply;
“The fight is on!!! Golovkin yes finally. This is exciting!! Let’s war!!
The fight could well be this generation’s Marvin Hagler/John Mugabi in terms of potential explosiveness and already fight fans the world over are rubbing their hands together with glee at the kind of powder-keg match-up boxing could really do with to keep casual fan interest rolling in the wake of the growing UFC and the “McGregor effect” as well as May’s disappointing Mayweather/Pacquiao fight.
Speaking to ESPN.com, Golovkin’s manager Tom Loeffler said;
“In one word: finally. We’ve gone to great lengths to try to put unification fights together for Gennady. We have to give Lemieux and Golden Boy a lot of credit for stepping up to the plate. Gennady will not underestimate Lemieux. He is the biggest puncher he will have ever faced, and Gennady will be the biggest puncher Lemieux will have ever faced.
“It is a great unification fight between two champions and the two biggest punchers in the middleweight division. If Lemieux wins, he takes over the spot as the best middleweight in the world, and if Gennady wins, he stays the best middleweight in the world.”
Explaining why he chose to let Lemieux fight Golovkin now, rather than a mandatory challenger, De La Hoya said;
“What changed my mind and everyone involved is that Lemieux can beat GGG, so why even waste our time with the mandatory? Let’s go straight to GGG,”
“He has a real shot at beating him. And this is the big fight he wanted, and when we presented this fight to him he was ecstatic.
“Lemieux is fired up. He says, ‘Nobody has ever pushed Golovkin back. He does not know how to fight going back.’ Lemieux has a beautiful jab, and he is going to use it.”
The fight will represent the PPV debut of both fighters and is a massive chance for Canadian Lemieux to sit atop the middleweight pile.
“When you talk about getting bang for your buck it doesn’t get any better than this,” De La Hoya said.
“When you think about the pay-per-view numbers we’re being real here. This is not a million-selling pay-per-view. We’re thinking along the lines of between 350,000 and 500,000 buys. You have to start somewhere, and this is a perfect fight for both guys to start off on pay-per-view. Obviously, we are going to stack the card like there’s no tomorrow. We want to give the fans bang for their buck.”
And Lemieux, who won his title in exciting style against Frenchman Hassan N’Dam last month, issued a pertinent warning to the murderous punching Kazakh;
“Everyone should be ready to have a new man to fear in the middleweight division
“I am well aware of what kind of power I am facing, but I’m not worried about it. It’s going to be a war. I know he’s going to come to fight. He might break my nose, but I’m going to break his too.
“I’ve said very honestly that I don’t care who I fight, so long as they are the best, and Golovkin is the best out there in the middleweight division. And I consider myself fully of his caliber. I don’t want any easy fights. GGG is the fight that people want to see.
“He wants me, then he’ll get me. On the 17th, it’s going to be fireworks. I want history. I want big, big things. And this is another big step.”

http://cdn1-www.ringtv.craveonline.com/wp-content/themes/ringtv/images/default-author-image.png Michael Woods Will Stiverne face Ortiz on GGG-Lemieux undercard? August 4, 2015
The rumor gets around the world twice before the correction gets traction. Maybe three times in the current age of social media…
Word is Bermane Stiverne, ex-WBC heavyweight titlist, gloves up again Oct. 17, on the Gennady Golovkin-David Lemieux undercard. He will meet musclely lefty Luis Ortiz. Or will he? “Hey Mike, we are working on a lot of different options nothing definite yet,” says Stiverne co-promoter Camille Estephan. “but the rumors on Stiverne versus Oscar Rivas are complete fabrications.”
Hmm, gotcha…one door closed but one left open.

Golovkin-Lemieux sets MSG box office record (http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/golovkin-lemieux-sets-msg-box-office-record-301574) A new Madison Square Garden box office record has been set by the highly anticipated world middleweight championship title unification between WBA/IBO and “Interim” WBC champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, (33-0, 30 KOs), and IBF Champion David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) headlining the historic venue on October 17. A pre-sale of over 6,000 tickets established a new record at the “Mecca of Boxing”, shattering all previous marks for boxing events. Just announced, Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (43-0, 37 KOs) will defend his WBC flyweight world championship against former two-division world champion Brian “The Hawaiian Punch” Viloria (36-4, 22 KOs) in the co-feature.
“The interest from fans in this middleweight title unification has been overwhelming,” said Tom Loeffler, Managing Director of K2 Promotions. “Madison Square Garden has never had a faster pre-sale for a boxing event. We’re ecstatic at the response from the pre-sale and look forward to very strong ticket sales continuing throughout the promotion. With this high level of interest, we strongly encourage boxing fans to purchase their tickets well in advance.”
“This record-breaking pre-sale only confirms that this fight will be one of the most exciting of the year as the best meets the best for middleweight supremacy,” said Oscar De La Hoya, Chairman and CEO of Golden Boy Promotions. “Fans are thirsty for action and they know that is what David Lemieux and Gennady Golovkin will deliver on October 17 at Madison Square Garden.”

"Pepe Lepew" is French... What else can I say???.... Lol.

GGG under 8 rounds, could be less if Pepe Lepew trades bombs in the center of the ring....GGG has a pretty good chin, Pepe not to good!....GGG is a great body puncher not just a head hunter, Pepe does not go to the body that much.
GGG is a well rounded heavy handed puncher that can punch with both hands, excellent ring general ship...I really don't give Pepe much of a chance unless he throws a Homerun punch and connects, other then that I really don't think is going to be a close fight.
Now the Undercard Chocolatico can absolutely fight, a monster puncher in the flyweight division, I have not seen a fighter that can punch like that since Roberto Duran when he first came up when he was 17 years old, Chocolatico just overwhelms the opponents with aggression and devastating punching power with both hands, he is one exciting fighter!
Cant wait to see it!

Laker I also want to Welcome you to the boxing forum but you must clear this for me.
Roberto Duran when he first came up when he was 17 years old,
Duran was 21 when he became a champ as a Lightweight, never seen him fight at that age. Benitez was 17 when he beat Kid Pambele in San Juan and became the youngest champ in history.
Now I will make my prediction, G should win this fight, why, because he has an important date with who ever wins between Cotto and Canelo. Cotto will give him a better paycheck so I know that he will be the one.
Choco is an Alexis Arguello, many things are expected from this young man. He's got it all.

Thank u Fibroso ( Mi gente) for welcoming me to the forum all of you guys commenting in the boxing forum are gentlemen in my eyes...Roberto Duran actually became a champ in his native Panama at the age of 15 or 16, later, I was in 8th grade, he was stripped of the title because he had lied of his age, nobody really new what his age really was, he was in my eyes the most feared dominating lightweight fighter I have seen, there was a video, I don't know if is available were Duran is doing a interview in his hometown on a farm, a reporter ask him is it true that you knocked out a horse when you were 15, he said yes, walk over to a horse and sucker punched him with a right hand and that horse went down, I will never forget that, my Dad and I could not believe what we saw, they start calling him "manos the piedra" (hands of stone)....He was super aggressive, devastating punching power, I have never seen a fighter in that weight class have the power of Duran. he fought all the way to super middleweight, he was a smaller man fighting big guys 4 weight classes above his normal weight class, he fought guys and took there title from Leonard, Destroyed Pepino Cuevas, Iran Barkley, fought & lost to Hagler very competitive fight, the only fight he really got wasted was against Hearns but he was doing drugs at that time, drinking & womanizing.
The other animal I saw in the lightweight division was Azuma Nelson (there is highlights of Azuma on youtube). a freak of a small man, tremendous power like Duran not as aggressive as Duran but one hell of a chin, I will never forget that classic bout between Nelson and Salvador Sanchez, Sanchez won by a hair on the Judges card, should have been a draw in my eyes, I saw a interview with Sanchez from Mexico before he died in the car accident and he said he was praying in the corner after rounds after the 6th.
he said he never faught a guy like Azuma Nelson.....The Nelson, Wilfredo Gomez fight was brutal, they hit each other with all they had until Nelson just wasted him, I felt that Gomez was never the same after that fight with Azuma.
Chocolatico reminds me a ton of Duran, watch this kids fights, he is totally awesome...Much faster then Arguello, way more aggressive then Arguello, just overwhelms his opponents.
Now you mention Wilfredo Benitez, I saw allot of his fights, he was a very polished fighter at a early age, he was very skilled, not great power but real good foot work, rolled with the punches, I remember when he lost his title to Leonard.

GGG, Lemieux ready for October clash By Matt Richardson
Photos: Wojciech Kubic
A funny thing is occurring this year in boxing.
The fights the fans and media want to see happen are actually being made.
Imagine that, right?
No nonsense, no tune-ups, no “fight and beat this guy now to get the better fight down the line.”
No. Instead, boxing is again providing good, old-fashioned professional prizefighting between evenly matched fighters and it’s happening often.
Whether it was the long awaited showdown between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao in May, an upcoming clash between heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury or an unofficial tournament at middleweight with some of the best fighters in the world, boxing fans are starting to get what they want.
One of the major fights fans have been clamoring for was officially announced on Tuesday afternoon at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
On October 17, in the big arena, the most exciting fighter in boxing, WBA middleweight title-holder Gennady Golovkin will meet IBF title-holder David Lemieux in a clash of two of the hardest hitting fighters in the sport.
How hard do both men hit? Combined, they’ve scored knockouts in 61 of their 67 victories.
“There’s going to be 100-percent fighting in this fight,” Lemieux (34-2, 31 KO’s) told the media before the press conference to announce the bout. “This deserves the spotlight it’s going to get. With this fight with Golovkin you can expect what you see. It’s going to be an explosive fight. I’m ready to take the belt and be the unified champion. I’m not here to be his friend. I’m here to be his opponent. I’m very confident in my abilities.”
“He’s a very good fighter, there’s no doubt about it,” Lemieux continued. “For every guy there is a match and for Golovkin I am that match.”
“I’m very excited to be here again,” Golovkin (33-0, 30 KO’s) stated about his return to the Garden. “New York is my second home. This is very important for my career. It’s amazing. Right now, I understand my situation a lot. Every step is very important. This is the biggest present for everybody. This is an amazing time for us and I promise an amazing show.”
“We’re really excited about this,” Golovkin promoter Tom Loeffler said during his turn at the podium. “This is big-time boxing. It’s two of the hardest punching middleweights. Two champions fighting against each other. It couldn’t be a better time now in the middleweight division.”
The winner of the fight will be the mandatory to fight the winner of the recently announced middleweight championship fight on November 21 between WBC champ Miguel Cotto and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
“I can say proudly that the middleweight division has been left in great hands,” said Bernard Hopkins, the promoter of Lemieux and a guy who knows a thing or two about middleweight boxing. “Here we are. We’re proud to deliver at Golden Boy this particular fight. We all wanted to get this done and we’re here. When you have the knockout ratio of both of these fighters, you don’t have time to go get your popcorn. This is the type of fight you know is going to be fireworks.”
“It’s a very interesting situation in the middleweight division right now,” Golovkin said. “Every fight in the middleweight division is very interesting. For Canelo and Cotto, I don’t know. For me it’s 50-50. There’s his story in life. There’s a story for Canelo, for Cotto…my story is at 160. Right now, Miguel is champion at 160. I want the WBC belt. I like old-school. I like who is number one. Who is best in the middleweight division? Business is second. I like fight. I like true story. I am true story.”
“For this fight I will do anything I have to do to leave the ring with those three belts,” Lemieux stated. “This is going to give the fans what they want to see. The fans are what bring you the legacy. The more people we have following us the better it is for the sports unity,” he said.
“This is boxing. This is serious business. Every fight is different,” Golovkin said. “Every fighter is different. He’s (Lemieux) a dangerous guy. He’s a very good puncher. This is for everybody. Not just for me, not just for us. It’s for the fans, it’s for TV. It’s for everybody.”
JABZ
More than 15,000 seats have already been sold for the fight and the Garden will likely be standing room only come fight night. The ticket pre-sale, meanwhile, nearly doubled the previous record. Loeffler: “This event will be sold-out.”
The pay-per-view card, to be telecast by HBO PPV, will cost $49.95. It will be Golovkin’s first appearance on pay-per-view following eight appearances on HBO. While it would be better for boxing if the fight marked Golovkin’s ninth appearance on the network that was unrealistic with the fighter’s economic demands. “(Pay-per-view) was the only way we could make it work financially,” Loeffler explained.
If the fight sells well, of course, those pay-per-view numbers will be used as leverage when it comes time to negotiate to fight the Cotto-Canelo winner.
The co-featured fight of the night will showcase WBC flyweight champion Roman Gonzalez against Brian Viloria. Gonzalez fought his last fight on the under card of Golovkin’s knockout of Willie Monroe in May so it was natural to team up the two power punchers again. Neither Gonzalez nor Viloria were in attendance on Tuesday
