A bad LS400 or LS500 could cause that yes. The new files don't lock on the 21500 TP's. You would need to post all your equipment and settings for the satellites for better answers. Power could be an issue. Settings could be an issue. Did you put the HD module in yourself? Have you tried removing it and reseating it?

Do you have the newest factory and 3rd party file loaded?

You want info, but aren't providing much. We can't see what you have or what you're doing.

settings are correct just want to know if the channels i am receiving on 110 are still mpeg 2
or 4 if they are 4 then i should not be getting them correct.
so my module would be ok.
this is the 2nd module i wouldnt think i would get two bad in a row.

Again......no one knows, you haven't given that information.... What channels are you receiving? Just a few are MPEG 2. You also answered none of my questions. How are you expecting to get help?

That receiver by it's self will decode a MPEG-4 8PSK channel, a secondary module is not needed for that function, you will see a signal from the transponder, but the channels used on that transponder may not be view-able.

The module is needed to view channels on the 110, 119, 129 satellites as they use a different type of FEC code then normal,(8PSK turbo FEC) the extra module is used for these channels, if it or the software for it is not working correctly you will/may loose channels as the receiver will not know what to do with them.

And the reasoning behind us asking what your set is like is to determine what may be the problem, things like "How many LNB's are your trying to run?" "What type of dish or dishes are your using?" "is there any switch involved with this setup?" things like that there help us help you better.

If you have gone through one module and the second one is not working, then there could be an outside the box problem, like lack of DC current to a Dish 1000 type LNB used for the three satellites on one dish, (110,119,129), or the wrong type of coax used for the install, if using a DP type (newer one) LNB(s) then coax used for an old legacy LNB may not work too good as the frequency response is not high enough on some coax used for those types of LNB's.

Trying to use an external Diseqc switch with a D1000 LNB will not work too good.

All valid questions in trying to help you out as best as we can.
