What the heck is a Telus dish? The Dish 500 can be used for either Dishnet or Bell - but in the case of Dishnet you won't get many HD channels unless you get another dish pointed to their 129 sat. What is the LNB on the Dish 500? - if it's a quad or twin you could always swap out that LNB for single/dual LNBs and use a DiSEqC switch to connect to the Telus (maybe??) and to a separate 129 dish.

use an ecoda 0/22 switch to combine both set-ups. I am assuming you have a provider box hooked up to power the lnbs

Since they are both Dish Pro LNBs - couldn't he use a DP44 switch?

The Ecoda switches would be a much cheaper way of going but if he has 4 sat signals coming in - how would you hook up the ecodas and your config file?

I have some 22 KHz switches but have never had much luck with them.

I think I will order a dp44 and try the thing is I am getting rid of the providers receiver so maybe I should also just get single lnbs and run all the cables to the switch and then run 2 to a different switch then one to the linkbox receiver would that work?

If he had 4 DP single lnbs then he could use the DP44 switch, having DP quads will cause issues with a DP44 switch (see thread below this one). Those DP lnbs have an internal diseqc switch so only one line from each lnb is needed and the 22 KHz switch can be used to join 2 of them to a receiver, just use the same diseqc commands that are being used now and add in the 22 KHz commands.

Ecoda is the brand and works with the diseq commands However there is no way a Fta rcvr will power those lnbs by itself.
