My Nfusion HD just stopped working and I can't figure it out.

Could my main board board be dead?

I've reloaded several times even with factory file.

NOI connects counts down can see channel I'm on but unit will not run ?

free channel works on 9421? Hasn't worked since Saturday.

I have SV8000 and it works so I know server is up .

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Not familiar with these units but if the units has an HD tuner card that is removable it may have decided to take permanent vacation on you and needs to be replaced.
Have you popped the cover to see if there are any burn marks on the board or components or any noticeable swollen caps?

Thanks for your reply, I will check the board for any issue's but free channel 201 & 9421 HD works fine?

Would that mean anything ?

How long do you let it sit on a channel to see if it comes in? The part that another receiver is fine and you get the 2 channels leads me to the board somewhere.
It sounds more like a chip issue somewhere on the board but I am simply guessing. Terryl might have a better idea and may chime in on this issue next time he pops in. He's very knowledgeable with this kind of issue.

If you're getting 9421, then there's nothing wrong with your HD module. NFHD units are finicky at the best of times, yet they provide the most superb HD pictures of any STB on the market.

Thanks again yes I'm leaning towards a chip issue as well , I've done everyting fact default reloaded file driving me crazy for last 3 days.

Think I'm gonna purchse a dreamlink T6 .

Your computer needs to be set as a static IP and the receiver needs that IP as gateway. My thought is someone changed something on your computer maybe an update from windows so now those numbers don't match. Another thing to check. I would guess you have already made sure the receiver is on a known working channel and you have re-booted it from the back. I personally never got the R24 file to work but R25 pops right in. What file have you loaded?

Your information has been change to factory default after you did the factory reset. Run Noi wizer setup again and pay attention to the step that telling you to enter the IP and gateway to the receiver,

Thanks riverman& Longster, I'm running 27f file, funny thing is it just stopped working . It still connects to NOI and even does the count down. Also you can see what channel the Nfusion is on in NOI so I know it's connecting. I reloaded PC several times even tried another PC receiver just wont roll the keys . I've had it a couple of years .

I'd be careful doing that. Although the T5 seems to be a pretty nice receiver (picture wise) just read the threads of people having problems setting the STB up. You may find it easier and less stressful trying to get the NFHD running again.

Have you checked that your donation is still valid? I see posts from others that their donations have become inactive even though there is time left. Try entering the server info from the SV8000 into NO1 and see if that works. I assume you have 2 subscriptions.

I know donation is valid because server connects fine through NOI.

I even tried restoring PC to prevois date to rule it out.

Pretty sure a chip or something went bad because the unit connets .

SUNS goes from disconnected to connected like before . So strange since free channels work fine.

Hmmm, I don't see posts of people having issues with the t5 at all. In fact the unit is easy to set up if memory serves me correctly. I think you are thinking of the new t6 with which a few members had some minor difficulties because there is more to the set up due to it being a multi functional unit.

Your receiver is fine, the only thing I can think of is your network setting on the receiver, have you change the network to static and change the IP and getaway?

I don't think there is anything wrong with your receiver. You are not receiving the code words from the server. Do you have 2 subscriptions, one for the Sonicview, and the NFusion? If you do, test the info from the NFusion in the Sonicview. If I remember right in NO1 the channel number shows as green if working ok and red if not. What color are your channel numbers.

All Network settings are fine , Receiver connects to NOI and counts down. SUNS go to connected.
So that proves Network.

Yes I checked board for any dis coloration don't see any.

Network is static.

Thanks

I still think is your network issue, give this a try, download Noi network wizard and run it, on your receiver You are using a public ip. You need to use the local ip which it will tell you once you run network wizard.

You may be right, but then again, I've not had any experience with the Dreamlink product. All I base my assumptions on is by scanning the forums and seeing the problems people are having. To my recollection, I see far more people encountering problems with Dreamlink STB's than with NFHD.

Have you popped the cover off as I suggested to see if there are any burn marks on the board or swollen caps?

This would ONLY be the case if he had the "Blue Light of Death", common in the NFHD if the C10 capacitor blows. Doubt it in this case as his receiver is functional.

I tend to agree with Longster here. Download the Network Wizard and run it. Enter the settings EXACTLY as to what the wizard gives you. I know that sometimes it takes a little playing around, but I'd be willing to bet this is your problem.

We try to help him Willy and I keep telling him 3 time is only your network issue but I guess he had no patience try to get it going. That's what testing is all about in this game, we help out each other and learn along. I see that he went and bought a new dream link t6 and is a clone, now that you have the new receiver, can you send me the nfusion I'll give you $20 for it..lol

I finally got it working seems IP changed on the server but yet the old IP would still connect this is what threw me off.

The other unit was using the URL. So my fusion is working fine now.

Thanks for all your help folks. I'm grateful for all your help.

This was a lesson learned and I lost a lot of hair.

Thanks again.:yeaah:
