Hello,

Does anyone know if any IPtv service is able to match the HD picture quality of IKS? I tried out Star TV, but the HD quality is like I'm streaming youtube. I figured this must be a general hardware restriction, but I have Netflix, which is also streamed, and it has very good HD quality.

More than anything, I want to be able to watch sports in HD with the same quality (or very close to) that it comes on IKS.

My personal experience with the typical iptv feed leads me to say that hd on a good satellite hd stb/ird via iks is FAR better than that on iptv.I tried 3 different iptv boxes & htpc as well.I guess it depends on how fussy you are about what you watch.
Only exeception I've found is the movies on Popcorn time:most of them are very good.

Thanks for your response. Much appreciated.

I am quite fussy about picture quality, so I don't think iptv is for me, in this case.

I'm sure it will evolve as the demand grows. For me & iptv, all I basically watch is movies on Popcorn time, & a few select things on Youtube.Make sure you use a good vpn with popcorntime though.

There is no IPTV HD that compares to IKS HD. Most IPTV has picture quality the equal of a worn out VHS tape which was taped at SLP mode.

Popcorntime does not work well for me,I get buffering and seems to take forever to load. However Showbox is Great for Movies.I have also installed Popcorntime and Showbox for buddies and everyone prefers Showbox.
Mobdro is a good back up for live channels especially News channels when IKS is down.

I think the IPTV is limited by the capabilities of the box more than anything and secondly by the server dishing it out and their compression techniques. But I have also seen IPTV running at 1080P and it is flawless and better quality than Netflix as well. To get those qualities though you need good bandwidth, a good video card and a lot of RAM available. You also need a server that can dish it out at that rate which are few and far between. I can't see how people can expect miracles with a box running the equivalent capabilities of an old Pentium PC. A new smart phone has a lot more under the hood than those set top boxes

I have it on 3 terminals in our home:works great here, even wirelessly via vpn.If buffering is your is your issue, just pause the movie & let it get ahead of you.I'm refering to HTPC....I don't do the junk boxes.

Yeah,I could pause the movie but since Showbox works without any flaws,I don't want to settle for second best.If someday Showbox becomes unavailable then I will be forced to look for a different alternative such as Popcorntime.I don't think I am using junk boxes.Using the Ouya on principle T.V and M8S Downstairs.

Private IPTV companies that offer smaller co-operative IPTV services have it certainly figured out. They run a separate data line and run a sperate box for there spefic service. This is an alternative to companies that offer interenet and often home phone that do not go through the cable route. However to do this on a massive scale and done through pirated channels would take a very serious operation, the infastructure as well as the excution would be difficult to pull off. I have really only experience a few of them that have it pretty close and they are box specific and are on the higher end of the bill.
