Need CD editer software

I need some kind of software that will separate songs from a downloaded CD. When a music Cd is downloaded from Youtube or ? it will come as one long audio file and I need a program that will separate tracks from the file.

I use Audacity to do that and a whole lot more. I have been strictly a linux user for over 20 years but I believe there is a version for windows also.

I try to steer away from the long files though if all possible. Sorta more trouble than it is worth some times. Most of the time you can get the same songs as singles on youtube; although Audacity will extract the audio but it takes longer to do it.

I also use youtube-dl to download the audio only and bypass the video:

youtube-dl --audio-quality 0 -x hxxp://whatever-the-link-is

Then you can use Audacity to remove the clipping and other undesirables and save the file to whatever format you want.
