22 Jan - Manny Pacquiao recently announced that he is happy about retiring as a boxer this year, but not before his fight with Timothy Bradley.

According to IB Times, the 37-year-old eight-time world champion spoke to the reporters recently at a media luncheon in Beverly Hills, saying, "I am so happy to hang my gloves after this fight because of what I have done."

"I am sure that I will feel sad after that. But that is life. Not all the time you are fighting or in the ring. But it's time," he added.

As for his upcoming 9 April fight in Las Vegas against the five-time world champion Bradley, Pacquiao stated, "It is going to be different because I believe we can create more action this time around compared to the last fight that we had."

Following his retirement, Pacquiao will be focusing on his career in politics, being the member of the Philippine House of Representatives from Sarangani's Lone District.

Previously, Pacquiao made a vow to try his hardest in his upcoming fight with Bradley, saying that he was inspired by the determination shown by his fellow compatriot, the recently-crowned Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach.
