DU is correct...I bet it took a firmware update. It will have to be rolled back at least one firmware value & be locked.

i don't think its updates I have a 622 w all updates, they do that sometimes it has a lot to do w emu just start fresh a bad bin can also make that happen or if its booting up on a non working channel also possible bad caps in power supply,i found it helps to put a real plastic card in and boot up on it then go back and try emu.
Thank you very much for your quick reply.........

Here's what I found that cured this problem, after scoping the power supplies I found (in my case) the +5.1 supply was dropping out or intermittent, the connector is poor design (my opinion) I hard wired each conductor, and now none/zero problems.

These Receivers like the Bell HD 9241 AND 9242 similar to the vip 722 have blown Capacitors after several years of usage. Its the most frequent problem they display.Blown Caps will cause the Receiver to Reboot, display recording problems or might even not recognize the hard drive. Will also cause signal strength to weaken.
Pop off the cover and check to see if any Caps have a rounded top.
