no message and no mp3 player will work. its a media player issue. it just dont reconize any mp3 player.

Have you tried uninstalling your current one then going to windows media and downloading and reinstalling? Sometimes a media player becomes corrupt and/you lose a file extension which will do this.

won't sync..
i guess you are using a usb cable from your mp3 player to your PC right?
it should pop up in the 'my computer' as a removeable drive. then go in there and double click on the mp3 songs and media player will open.
if not, try another player like vlc player or even the classic winamp
good luck voltron lion

Yes you can delete your vista media player and then re-install it.
Second is have you tried pluging your mp3 player into another port?
Just trying to knock of some of the obvious.

Go to start and click on search. Then type in media player. It should come up.

it comes up but no way to delete. just the short cut

Right click the short cut and then click on properties. It will tell you where it is. Simply go there then and delete it.
You will then need to reboot and then reinstall it. That should do it.

that just gives info on the short cut.

When you click on properties there should be something to the effect.. "Target". That is it's location.
I use xp pro and win7 ultimate so it may be slightly different for you.

You need to be logged in as adminnistrator or have administrator rights.
If you can't do either then simply try installing windows media again which should simply install anything missing.

Is there some way to try you mp3 player in another computer? Maybe your cord is faulty.
zoogor

Do you have another usb device to try? Maybe your usb port has a problem.
You can always go to device manager and see if it is ok. You may need to update the drivers for it.

it says drivers are all up to date
