I am trying to use my WD Passport Ultra external HD ,I formatted it to fat , when I hook it up to my dl t5 it says invalid usb anyone else get this and how did you solve the issue

I got that , but when I went to format it, there were only 2 options in the format window, 1 option was ex fat and the other was NTSB

Figured this thing out, with Windows 10 I only had the option to format the HD with ex FAT or NTSB so I had to use the command prompt in dos mode and there I was able to format in FAT 32 mode it is formatting now gonna take awhile it's like a 1 TB hard drive, will let you know once complete and I hook it up to the t5

Well so much for that idea, went through the process of the format, to the entire evening just finished about a half hour ago. When it was complete the dos program said the volume was to large to be FAT 32 and it failed. Why didn't it say that before it started ?

There we go I got it now, I used Verbatim FAT 32 tool, it formatted and converted to FAT 32 when window dos would not . Tried the WD Passport ultra 1 tb on the DL T5 it now detects it without any errors. Tried recording a program , recorded 28 seconds of it and that worked no problem. So if anyone else has issues I recommend that Verbatim tool , it works great and only took a couple of minutes to do it.Compared to the Windows software that ran all night for nothing
