The Lion Park also says residents can rest assured that there is no lion running wild in Johannesburg.


The wild cat is, in fact, Columbus - a famous lion in the local film industry.


The park’s Shandor Larenty says “There is no lion running around in Johannesburg. When we had the lion out there, the area was central and the roads were closed so no one was in any danger. Extra security measures were taken to ensure the safety of the crew as well as the people in the area."


He says Columbus has starred in a few adverts, as well as the American comedy, Blended.
