the mag may be easier to configure but you are limited as to what you can do, mag only does iptv, an android box gives you endless options not just iptv, you can use the kodi platform and have tons to view with or without iptv, a little more to learn with android but once you understand it, it becomes much easier, if you do go with an android box just make sure the specs are decent

a box designed for iptv might work better, not going to argue the point

Most private IPTV services will allow MAG boxes and Avov boxes - a few only work with a Roku receiver. Some of the private IPTV services, such as NFPS/Rocket and IPGuys will allow Android boxes using an emulator - but others, like IPTVExpress, will not allow emulator software to access their service. Apparently it is easier to cheat and use more than one receiver with a single donation if you use an Android box with an emulator - so some ban them.

I like the Avov boxes - you can use both the IPTV private services and the free IPTV stuff like Kodi/TVAddons and others. Some private/paid IPTV services seem to be having a problem with security - multiple boxes with one donation - and may be forced to ban emulators if they can't find a way to stop the leaching. If more services do ban them - you may have limited service options if you use an Android box with emulation software.

Sorry I just read your question again - you had me a little confused - you are using IKS but was asking about MAG boxes and Kodi - so I went off on a tangent talking about Avov boxes.
If you are going the IPTV route I think the Avov are good - but if you are using IKS - then I think most of the northern services I have tried are very reliable and have the sports packages.
If you don't mind standard def then even the old DreamBox 500-S can pick up BEV with all of the sports packages. I you are in the deep south then you may need a pretty big dish to pick up BEV.

If you can not get sport package from your service donation, it doesn't matter what box you are using. I dont know who have all the sport package for iptv, another option is using Kodi, there is a addon call Pro Sport that have all the NHL,NBA,MLB they are all HD and work fearless.

The only box I can think of that can do both iks/kodi is Linkbox 9000i and dreamlink T6. Do a research before you buy these box, especially the T6 they still have some bug and a lot of clone.

It may be cheaper to buy two separate boxes. In my experience and from I have read the boxes that try to do both IPTV and IKS seem to have problems trying to do everything.
I think you already have a good HD receiver for IKS - so why not just look for something to do IPTV if that is what you want. I like and use both the MAG and Avov boxes but would probably lean towards the Avov if I had to chose one - because it can do both private/paid IPTV and public/free IPTV (Kodi/XBMC).

You are going to pay a lot more money for a box that will do both IKS and IPTV and I don't think it is worth it. If you want to do both my preference would be a DreamLink T4 or T5 for IKS and an Avov for private/paid and free/Kodi IPTV. If you check they prices I think the two boxes would be close to the price of one box that would "try" to do both.

Thanks - I tried Pro Sport on an Avov with TVAddons to watch an NBA game around 1:10 PM - I think it was the Raptors and I could not get any of the feeds to work. Then I tried one of the MLB games that were supposed to start at 1:05 but none of them were working. I didn't really care if I could watch or not I was just testing as we were going out for the afternoon. I gave up after 15 minutes and nothing was coming in when I left.
I think this is what frustrates most people trying to use the public/free IPTV - it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. For some it is a chore trying to use a remote let alone jumping from menu to menu trying to find the stream they need. A lot of the older folks just want to turn on their box - select the channel and watch the ball game - and they don't mind paying for that privilege.

I like the Avov quadcore TVOnline+ box. The price is reasonable and the support is good. It will do both paid/private IPTV and the free Kodi/XBMC stuff.
