Kadri with any luck can start packing his bags............with Marner probably coming up next year that would at best make Kadri a #3 center and his ego wouldn`t allow that. Now that the Leafs have him under a signed contract for the next 5 yrs he`ll be pretty attractive to someone out there as part of a pkg hopefully for some defense as the Leafs have another pick in the 1st round..

The Leafs are on a roll and nothing should be taken to chance........the draft is to be in Buffalo this year so tell Morrison it`s in Alaska and send him there.
Yup....so much for my prediction of 3rd and worse the Habs picking second. Loved the look on Bergevin`s face picking 9th. I almost feel sorry for Matthews considering the press the kid will have to endure till the draft. Take a look on TSN there are a gazillion Matthews stories in print already.

Right you are on both counts....Matthews needs support more than McDavid but if paired with what we`ve seen of Nylander they could both hit some pretty impressive numbers in a big hurry. Like we`ve both said many times before....this draft is what will make or break the Leafs rebuild....and it`s squarely in the hands of Mark Hunter and I`m good with that he should have a well versed eye on anyone available. I wonder aloud if the Leafs will try and trade up for a defenseman with the Pitts pick using Kadri, the pick and whoever. There are only 3 defensemen slotted reasonably high (6-9) in Segachev, Chychrun and Juolevi in this draft and all are a step above anything the Leafs have.

I was thinking about that last night, we got picks to package, the real work begins on that draft floor, we need defense and some goalies were really thin in those areas, but I do have faith in shanny and the staff they will make something happen, you could Tell Lou was not happy with the goaltending we have, and he did trade the 9th overall pick for Cory Schneider. Should be an interesting Summer thats for sure:)

Interesting summer to say the least.......I`m happy that the leafs didn`t get a later pick because it may very well have been Patrick Laine who could very well be a #1 without Matthews. Laine is and will be a great player.....but it would be like mixing oil and water with Lou as Laine is a free spirit, long hair etc........not at all what Lou demands. Just think about it for a second...all the perennial Norris candidates would not be acceptable to Lou because of their grooming....not Weber, not Doughty, not Karlsson, not Keith, certainly not Brett Burns LMAO.......and that`s why I was so against Lou coming on board, too narrow minded.

That`s right bud......in choosing Matthews over Laine the Leafs will fill a desperate need and while they`re at it avoid a possible
banging of heads between Laine and Lou. Needless to say they`ll give up on yet another Morrison swing and a miss on Gauthier unless he hangs for a 4th line center.

Matthews will work with JVR and possibly Nylander........Laine would be a winger without a #1 center unless you really assume Kadri is a #1 center. Matthews would be the man in the middle the Leafs and many other teams covet, he`s by far the Leafs best choice for what they need going forward. Kadri plays when he feels like it and is no #1 or even #2, Gauthier is a complete bust and Marner for his size is a big question mark in the middle.

add to that re Nylander that he stops with the Kadri type passes behind the play to the middle of the ice....nobody on our defense recognizes it hence all the 100+ foot breakaways. Gardiner, Hunwick and Rielly too busy jumping the rush...Marincin and the rest are too stupid to notice it. Kadri keeps doing it no matter what Babs says but hopefully Nylander can learn.
MLSE will market the crap out of Matthews that`s why I think the Leafs will start him #1 or at worst #2......3rd line centers don`t sell jerseys etc etc. We`ll see on that one because we both know the Leafs wouldn`t have the balls to send him to the Marlies.

oh no way they would even dare send him to the marlies, i just seen he is the same age as Eichel and Mcdavid he missed lasts years draft by 2 day so that explains why did he really good playing with men in the swiss league. yes I hope Nylander can learn that if not we are in trouble.
