I would like to know the steps on how to attempt to get more channels for Nimiq 91. my signal and quality strength are both sitting around 70%. before i start messing around with my dish signal i would like to know the steps I should take without risking loosing my current channels.

Thanks for your help

You can try changing your transponder but if you have signal as you do make sure there's no tree branches interfering and if all clear then you need to tweak your dish.

if you are too far south of the border , the signal drops off pretty fast
91 footprint in the usa is very limited

To get a stronger signal ("S") you may need better coax, or move the receiver closer to the dish.

To get better "Q" (quality) you may need a bigger dish.

If your getting all the transponders on that satellite (or satellites) then there is not much more that can be done.

"Q" is the quality of the decoded channel from the transponder, a bigger dish or better LNB(s) may help to get better "Q".

"S" is the strength of the signal from the LNB to the receiver, better coax or a shorter run of coax can help with this.

what channels are you missing ?

is there a pattern to it, are the missing channels all on even or odd numbered transponders ?

70% signal should be sufficient to get all channels ...

the previous posts cover most of the possible problems ... the only thing I would add is to check all your connections ...

quality coax is only as good as the connections ....

If your using the STB as a meter, remember that one unit could show 70% and another 90%.
They are not created equal.
I have a Jynxbox V2 that shows 95% and a Dreamlink that shows 80% on the same setup.
