china is where they ship the lobsters I catch. by looking at the waters around there,it is a wonder that humans could live around that crap. them china men sure love their lobster, best price in a few years we got.

Makes swimming in the Detroit River back in the 60`s across from Zug Island pretty lame.

if I remember right you didn't have to swim you could walk across it,
specially by zug island, Detroit river used to freeze over back about a 100 yrs ago

Bootleggers used to cross over in vehicles in the winter during prohibition. I have never seen it come close to freezing over.

Bootleggers used to cross over in vehicles in the winter during prohibition. I have never seen it come close to freezing over.
They have literally pulled thousands of cars and bodies out of the river.........mostly piled up like you mentioned during prohibition. Amherstburg/Lasalle on the west where the current deposits and Tecumseh/Riverside where it starts. The river froze over on the outskirts of Detroit but the current was too strong to freeze over between Windsor/Detroit about 98% of the time. Almost but not quite LOL............I skated the black ice next to the current many times all the way to Belle River just like the idiot my dad called me.
