That's no hawk, that's a bald eagle and he probably ate that goose for dinner lol.

Those Canuck geese are pretty easy going and peaceful - but don't piss them off or attack their family or friends - they can and will defend until death and can get pretty vicious :-)

The Goose was playing dead. He got up a few seconds later and flew to water where the bald eagle and one of his friends later gave up the fight.

We have two pairs of Bald Eagles nesting on a island 10 minutes north of me.

Fantastic looking birds and big. I had one fly 10' above the boat last week.

The bald eagle is a ferocious preditor and can take on a lot of creatrures but the real threat is the golden eagle which is much larger and is a much larger preditor. I never understood why it wasn't picked as our national bird? It would have made mince meat of that goose lol.

Bald Eagles eat mostly fish, both dead and alive. Dead or dying fish, washed up on shore, are a favorite food. Other foods include: ducks, snakes, turtles, muskrats, rabbits, frogs, fawns (baby deer), mice, snails, other birds, vulture vomit, and carrion.
