PHILADELPHIA (AP) - D*sh Network spent $320,000 in the fourth quarter lobbying the federal government on various issues related to the transmission of local TV signals.
That's slightly less than the $330,000 it spent in the third quarter but more than double what it spent in the fourth quarter of 2008.
At issue is the role of satellite TV companies in bringing signals of distant TV stations into smaller communities that are missing a major TV network. It also requires that they carry public television stations in high-definition, something D*sh had balked at doing.
D*sh lobbied Congress in the October-to-December period, according to a filing made with the House clerk's office on Jan. 20.
