I have a SV8000hd but it was from about 5 years ago i think. I never did get the 8psk module, so I think that means I couldn't use it for HD. I also bought one of those dongles for it years ago and it's kicking around here somewhere. Is there any use/value at all with this old equipment for IKS?
Or would it be better to buy a new receiver like Dreamlink for IKS?
Thanks!

you can always buy one & install it , rather then buy a new receiver ...........

Thanks for the quick reply!
I know it's hard to speculate, but a SV8000HD that has been sitting for around 5 years is obviously hugely out of date. This may be a good or a bad thing in terms of firmware...... Assuming the receiver is still working fine, it is fairly straight forward to bring it out of "long term hibernation" and make it useable for modern IKS? The last time I used it, the dongle was used for public IKS.
Honestly, I was shocked to hear the SV8000HD was even useable in 2016 for IKS.

Thank you very much for that information. That is interesting to know as my primary interest would be bev iks. I may have to re-think trying to use this receiver for iks.

I've had my SV8000 for about 9 years, and it had been in retirement since about 2011. My CW4000HD, went kaput, so I put it back into action. The only issue I have is the frame stuttering that happens on some 720p channels.

At times, It frame stutters on Dik's 720 channels as well(9477, 9424 etc..) . It populates on Dik(ch 239). I'm not sure what chennel populates the guide on the north anymore. Once in a while, I hit the guide and I will have a few days of programming. Anyone know out there?

As I understand it, you do not need the 8psk module for Northern prov only for DN south.

Wow, really? Thanks for bringing this up!! Can someone please confirm this.
For me it would be strictly northern bev, so if the 8psk module isn't needed that would be a huge plus.

Aaah, i suspected it was too good to be true. 8psk seems hard to find now.... I think I will look further into IPTV.

You won't need an 8PSK module for BEV

Shouldn't need the module for 91 but would for 82 via someone offers both. No longer in beverly's shadow so I'm in the dark on those two northern birds now...real shame but tis what tis. Finding a module for one now would be a challenge. There were some modules on some of the venues but they have since been sold. Two tp's on 91 have a ch. in SD/clear per lyngsat so one could check out and have a look see.
91...ch-195...12559...H...20000...7/8...QPSK
91...ch-184...12661...V...20000...5/6...QPSK
May have to adjust FEC one way or the other.
