external hard drive, dvd burner

Please could someone tell me if the dreamlink T4 will take an external hard drive or dvd burner in the usb slot to use as pvr instead of usb stick, if so is there certain specs I look for to be sure it works? I get a lot of usb sticks that won't work.Thank you

because you have to format the usb stick that why it don't work

what is the size of usb because i use 8gb and it work . 2gb and 4gb don't work on mine

16 GB other brands work fine but not wintech and verbatim
