Have a Jynxbox that has had multiple JB200 Modules that seems to drop TP signal randomly.
Couple of symtoms: Can be sitting on a perfectly good channel and will loose picture and sound will be from another channel.
A channel that was there yesterday will have no signal or quality today.

I know it sounds like a bad JB200 but could it be anything else? The last two I have purchased have showed symtoms right from the start.

Thanks

make sure it is not overheating, take the cover off and see if the problem(s) still happen, there has been tons of posts/threads regarding the jb200, use the search option of the forum and see if anything is related to what's happening to you

Ya heat isn't the issue. It can happen when I first power it on from cold. Besides I have replaced the internal fan and use a lap top cooler fan on it as well.

Check your coax cable ends & check your LNB ground, a bad cable end or ground will do that on the jynxbox.

Thanks will look at connections at motor.

Put back to factory flash. Then reload from scratch. My 2 cents worth

Think IQ180 was on to something. Took apart all coax connections and cleaned and it seems much better as long as I stay on one sat. When I switch from Sat to another, motor doesn't always move. Have to go into motor settings and move from there.

Sounds like you need to replace your coax cable, start with the short cable from the LNB to the dish mover, if that don't fix it then replace all the cable with a good copper core cable.
BTW, use a magnet to test the cable core, if a magnet sticks to the core then it's not a good cable, a good coax cable is all copper
and a magnet will not stick to it.

Did so and no change. Since then it is getting worse and failing to move the motor from one sat to another now. Also I will get sound on a channel but no picture. The sound is from a channel I know I don't have on. I think it's just another bad jb200??? Getting pretty fed up with this V7 box, nothing but trouble from the start. Are the newer Jynxbox's any better???

No the newer ones are no better, they all have the same JB200 POS module that can't take the heat.

I've said this in the Jynx box section a couple times. Why not investigate the module to learn more about it? There are other modules out there that might work better if you knew something about how the modules work, but you are not going to have ANY info if you don't do some testing!

Does the motor behave the same way if you remove the module and just test it with out it in-line???

If so then it's a problem in the motor, or a DC power problem from the receiver, most H to H motors need about 350 mA of DC current at 12 volts minimum to move from satellite to satellite,(check your motor spec's) lack of current or a big drop in DC voltage at the motor and it will misbehave.

And you are going directly to the motor from the receiver and not through a switch of some type first are you?

No switch, direct to motor. Upon further investigation, it is moving the motor, it just doesn't show it in the signal or quality readings, this is on sat 91. I went to a different receiver in my house and signal and quality are perfect(meaning the dish has actually moved, just not registering in the signal and quality bars on the Jynxbox). The TP's on the Jynxbox that the motor is hooked to both read 40% signal and quality on every tp on that sat and don't fluctuate with motor movement at all. 82 has some tp's getting good signal and quality, but no picture, or volume from a different channel, with no picture. Pretty sure it's a bad module, but this is about the fourth one.
Anyway, I think I fixed the problem today.......bought a Dreamlink T5

Just wanted to provide update with the problem solved. There was a piece of coax cable on my roof that had a joiner to piece two ends together under tape which I never seen before. One end had basically corroded off and was the cause of all the problems. It must have been making just enough of a connection to work sometimes and not others. So in the end no fault of the Jynxbox at all. Jynxbox working fine now......as is the new dreamlink :)
