I rode in the 80's ,, we were about 15 ,, all with different bikes
GSX 750
GS 1050
Ninja 900
CBR
Honda 1000R

And the list goes on .... mine was the 1985 Yamaha FJ 1100 ,, changed the sprocket for 1/4 mile
I once topped my best buds Ninja 900 to 260 K/hr ....... many stories and many memories bud ....
Looking at the video brings back the smell of a hot engine and the smell of burning rubber ,,, what a blast from the past !!!

i shud have never sold this wheelie machine....worth a small fortune now...rz500 v4 2stroke...i remeber my buddy says too me after a few joints and beerz..take me me for a rip and walk it on the back wheel..i told him too hold the feckk on..stood the bike up..and i felt 2 clickz on both sides of my helmet...it was his ankles...when he finished rolling on the pavement..the skin was shreaded on both arms..elbow too wrist...

Yeah that was it ,, mono seat, full fairing, steal braided lines, and a few other bells
After having changed the sprocket the bike would launch on a wheelie at the twist
of the throttle from 60 K/hr ..... can't believe we made it out of the 80's alive... LOL

Those machines were nuts !! And none if us had the experience,, (we think we did)

Saturday night races brought 3 - 500 bikes to either 32 Ave. In Dorval or Promenade
St Bruno ,,,, smoked many tires bud .... LOL .... Perelli Phantom's were my favorite, I
Bought one every month LOL

My good buddy Niki,, got this beast after I scraped his 900 Ninja
This bike was SICK ,, would peel off 1, 2, and 3rd ,, a real rocket
on two wheels

frzr 1litre bike eh...sweet...cudnt get insurance if i tried..my bro bought one..blue/white..went with him 12k cash..he had it litterally one week...an ole lady cut across his lane into the bingo hall..he flew over the car...bike wrote off...didnt even have 100kms on it....my 0wn insurance co..of 22yrs wont insure my bike...had quotes of 6k to 8k a year...no comp no collision..lol....feckinn brutal....

Yes I know all about today's insurance ... it's brutal
It wasn't always like that though ,, in 85 I bought the FJ 1100,, brand new for 5400$
and insurance was,, (if I remember) 600$ per year ,, with 200$ credit at the end of the season

I quit riding around 95 ... got married,, kids,, cats,, and well, you have an idea ............
