I was wondering the same thing .... so I went into my trusty "Youtube" to check it out
and found out the method is called "walking the cup" and it's all man or woman workmanship

For anyone curious, these welds are stainless TIG welds done by hand. Likely using the technique of "walking the cup". That is where the ceramic cup of the torch is actually rested against the weldement and "walked" along the joint to give a extremely consistent weave. Good pipe welders can fool untrained eyes into thinking it was done by machine!

My dad was an old boilermaker welder, he tried to teach me to weld. I turned out an electrician .
