does anyone know of an experienced satelitte installer in the GTA (greater toronto) area?

I have a professionally installed Bell dish with a OCS - DP-LNB. I am running 2 dreamlink t5 receivers (1 upstairs 1 downstairs).

Setup worked fine for about a year. Now i cannot get the blue lines downstairs. It's as if my downstairs line is dead. I have run the box upstairs without issue so we can rule out power/HD module etc.

I even hired an experienced installer to come to the house last week and he was stumped as well. He installed a brand new line downstairs and we still could not get the blue lines. He connected the dish to his birddog and everything was fine. This is a strictly power/interference situation.

If anyone has a GOOD satellite installer that gets this game, please, please let me know.

unfortunately i don't have one. The previous home owner had one.

The setup worked fine for a about a year.

The installer that came by swapped out my LNB with his test one and still same result.

do you have any experienced installers that would come to maple (ontario)?

sounds like your 8psk module has gone. Swap the 2 receivers around to see if the problem migrates

Thanks. Yeah the box works no problem upstairs. I had an installer here for 4 hours last weekend and couldn't figure this out. Said he has never seen this in his life.

I'm skeptical with kijiji now

Did you try unplugging the box upstairs when testing the downstairs box?

Is the new line that was installed run the complete distance from the receiver to the LNB without any connectors?

Did you try swapping the port connection at the LNB - ie if you upstairs receiver is connected to port 1 on the LNB and your downstairs receiver is connected to port 2 on the LNB - switch it so the downstairs receiver is on port 1.

SOLVED
Believe it or not, the issue turned out to be the power cord. For some reason the power cord downstairs has enough juice to power the box but not get power from the lnb. I swapped the actual power cords (finally) and boom downstairs works upstairs dreaded red lights.

Not sure if anyone has had this issue before but basically that was the answer. If you have had this before, is there anything I can do to prevent the only one I have left from doing this too?
